That night they all sat for dinner.Ananya smiled at Pooja and Khushi "So how do you girls like your first day in AR? "
Unknowingly Khushi looked at Arnav as her thoughts went out to their earlier encounter.When he gazed right back at her, she quickly turned her face away as a faint blush adorned her cheeks much to the amusement of Arnav.
"Mom it was really good.There are two other interns along with us and they are cool " Pooja replied exitedly.Khushi nodded and said with a teasing smile at Pooja "Ya aunty and Poo especially like the new interns very much.Right Poo? "
Pooja shot a killer look at Khushi which she promptly ignored and digged into her plate.At the mention of interns Aryan spoke up " Oh yeah I hardly had time to interact with the new interns today.What are their names? " he asked while scrunching up his face, trying to recollect.He vaguely remembered a tall guy and a pretty girl.But he was so busy today that neither their faces nor their names registered in his mind.
Khushi was the first one to answer "Ishika and Rohit.They both are classmates and good friends like me and Poo " Khushi said smiling at Aryan. Aryan immediately perked up at the mention of Ishika's name and grinned "Ishika? That's a pretty name "
Arnav rolled his eyes and said "Aryan for you every girl's name is pretty.Leave the interns alone.I don't want a playboy in AR " when he said the word 'interns' he gazed directly at Khushi. Khushi felt a strange shiver run up her body at his intense glare.
Aryan was about to give a saucy reply when Ananya laughed and stood up" Ok am gonna take leave now. I can sense the beginning of this evergreen argument yet again " She smiled at Khushi " Khushi beta I will see you tomorrow.These two will take whole night and debate on this.You better escape too and Sleep well " She then kissed Pooja's forehead and saying a goodnight to the ASR's, she retired to her room.
Arnav and Aryan glared at each other.Pooja stood up grinning at Khushi " Khushi mumma is right. This particular argument has no end.Lets get going " She said while stretching her arms high above her head.
Aryan glared at Pooja with mock anger "Shorty, you are supposed to pitch in and resolve.Your Arnav bhai just called this innocent sweet boy a playboy " he said pointing to himself, and making an innocent puppy dog face. Khushi laughed " Aryanji you are so funny "
Arnav ignored Khushi and her tinkling laughter and smirked sarcastically at Aryan " Innocent boy? Right " he said quirking one eyebrow at him ,which Khushi found fascinating.
After leaving the dining hall, Khushi and Pooja came to Khushi's room to chat for a while.Ever since they entered her room, Khushi has been teasing Pooja endless over Rohit.
"Stop it idiot. I wasn't drooling over him ! He is just another guy " she said shrugging nonchalantly. Khushi laughed " Ya right.Just another guy that made you all blushy blushy and unusually quiet huh? " She ducked a pillow which came sailing her way and chuckled.
"Now can we pls talk something else? " Pooja said rolling her eyes.Khushi frowned "Poo do you think Arnav sir would have scolded Jenny? " She wished she was there to find out what exactly Arnav wanted to talk to Jenny about.Although she dint want to admit it, she felt kind of irritated at the thought of Jenny with him.
Pooja shrugged "Jenny? Arey you are still worrying about that? Khush, Jenny isn't that important to worry about and am sure Bhai would have put her in her place " She yawned widely as she got up " Ok am feeling sleepy.I guess all the excitement of first day in AR has caught up with me ! " she said smiling broadly.
Khushi grinned devilishly "Excitement of first day in AR or excitement of meeting Dimple boy ?Its only 9.30 pm Poo " Pooja hit her on her arm now laughing along as well "You are hopeless Khushi.Anyway I feel sleepy " They finally bid good night to each other and Pooja left to her room.

Khushi was playing games on her mobile to stay awake.Feeling thirsty, she turned towards her bedside table and to her annoyance she found the water jar empty.She glanced at the clock and pouted. Damn its only 10pm. Only half hour as passed since Pooja left.
Khushi sighed and picking up the jar, she made her way down the hallway to get some water from the kitchen.But before she could descend the steps towards kitchen, she heard her name being mentioned from inside Aryan's room.She retraced her step back and went near Aryan's door as curiousity overwhelmed her.
"Come on Arnav, why cant we invite Khushi along? She is after all shorty's close friend and she must have planned something too " Aryan said to Arnav in an exasperated tone.
Arnav just stood up with " Whatever " and with one quick movement ,opened the door to make his way out. Since Khushi was leaning on the door in an attempt to listen to the conversation, the unexpected opening of the door made her lose her balance and she stumbled forward. "What the ' " Arnav reacted instinctively and caught her from falling.
Khushi clutched his arms and closed her eyes tightly."Hey Khushi what a surprise ! I was about to call you " Aryan's surprised voice got her out of her shock and she quickly jerked back.
Arnav glared at her " What the hell were you doing at the door? " Khushi's face flushed with embarrassment "Uh actually ' I " Khushi began stuttering.
But before she could form a tangible sentence Aryan came to her rescue " Dude don't start on her again " He smiled at Khushi " Khushi come in. We want to discuss something with you " he said while gesturing her inside.
"Not we.You wanted to discuss with her " Arnav said from the doorway while folding his arms across his chest.He should get going.He isn't interested in Khushi's involvement in their plan.But somehow his legs refused to move.
Aryan rolled his eyes "Ya ya I wanted to discuss.Now would you mind closing the door and get back inside? " he said to his twin.Arnav shrugged nonchalantly and sat back on the chair.
Without wasting time, Aryan spoke up "Khushi am sure you know tomorrow is shorty's Birthday " Khushi nodded smiling.He smiled back and continued " This is the first time she is home on her Birthday after 5 years.So Arnav and I have decided to surprise her with a big cake at 12.I have already placed an order for a Chocolate Cake "
Khushi grinned "Wow that's great.I have bought her gift already.I was planning to give it at 12 by sneaking into her room " She suddenly frowned "But wait a minute.You said Poo is home after 5 years right.We can make it more special for her" she said excitedly as an idea popped into her mind.
"We have already ordered for a cake and it will be delivered within an hour.Freshly made.What more is there? " Arnav said looking at her with a frown.
Khushi was way too excited with her sudden idea to be distracted by getting into an argument with Arnav." Actually Sir -----" she started to be interrupted by Arnav "Its Arnav.Can you pl cut the sir crap while at home ? " he said feeling annoyed.
Khushi pouted then without missing a beat continued excitedly "Ok Arnavji listen.I have an idea.Pooja cuts cake every year.Back in college also we get her a cake. But this time, instead of buying a cake from outside, why cant you guys make it for her at home? Poo will be touched and delighted.It will be so special " she said looking at the twins expectedly.
"Wow Khushi ! That's a brilliant idea " Aryan exclaimed at the same time, Arnav said "It's a stupid idea.One which will not work "
Khushi rolled her eyes.She knew he will never agree to it.'Laad Governor ' she muttered to herself.Aryan looked at Arnav "Come on Man, don't be a spoil sport it's a superb idea. Lets do it Khushi " he said grinning at Khushi.
"Oh really? How do you plan to do it? We have never been to kitchen other than to get something to eat.That too most of the time HP brings it to us " Arnav said pointedly.
"So ? What's the big deal? It cant be that difficult.We are ASR's man.We can do anything and besides Khushi will help us.Right Khushi? " Aryan asked looking at Khushi with a hopeful expression.
Khushi smiled broadly and nodded "Ofcourse I will help.Pl Arnavji it will be fun and Poo will love the surprise.Trust me " She said looking at him hopefully.
Arnav looked at her innocent face, free of make up and with a hopeful expression.Even though the idea sounded silly, he found himself unable to say no to her."Alright.But am not doing this ever again " he said looking at the two of them.
Aryan and Khushi grinned happily and Hi-fived each other."So the mission cake begins!!" Khushi said clapping her hands in excitement.

They got everything except plain chocolate and double cream which is required for the icing.Khushi placed her hands across her slender hips and stared at the contents in hand.She turned towards Aryan and Arnav with a worried look" Without icing the cake wont be complete "
Aryan spoke up "Hey not a problem.I can go and get it.Its only 10.30 Some super markets will be open until 11.30/12 too. You guys make the rest of the stuff while I get these " Khushi brightened "That will be great ! Then get some chocolate chips and strawberries or cherries if possible "
Arnav said "I will go and get it " Aryan shook his head "No way bro,you said you wont be doing it again right? So you gotta do it fully this time " he said smirking at his twin.He quickly grabbed his car keys and left leaving Arnav and Khushi alone.
Khushi began figeting with her hands feeling suddenly uncomfortable in his presence. She just realized she is in her night clothes.A 3/4th pant,a very ordinary t-shirt and without an ounce of make up on her face.She must be looking a mess she thought.
Arnav on the other hand, admired Khushi unconsciously. 'Damn, she is beautiful' he thought.
Khushi finally cleared her throat and said brightly " So lets start " Arnav nodded.For the next 15 mins they worked silently together as Khushi guided him and helped him with the ingredients.
"Arnavji here, now beat this mix well " she said handing over a wooden spoon. As he extended his hand to get the spoon.Their fingers brushed accidently and Khushi felt a shiver run down her spine "
Arnav began mixing the ingredients in the large bowl.Since this is first time in the kitchen, the contents spilled around the kitchen cabinet creating a mess.But inspite of all that there was an air of comfortableness.
Once the mixing is done.Khushi touched her finger inside one corner of the bowl to check whether the mixture has blended well.She licked her finger and nearly moaned in pleasure as the chocolate hit her taste buds, which made Arnav's breath hitch in his throat.He looked at mesmerized.She opened her eyes and smiled at him " It tastes yummy already "
Her smiled dropped a little when she realized he is staring at her unblinkingly.She quizzed him with her eyes.He smiled a little and pointing at the corner of his lips, he gestured the same towards her.She frowned and touched the side of her other lip.Arnav shook his head and as if in a trance,his hand moved forward and wiped the corner of her lips which had the chocolate smudge.
Khushi's eyes widened at the sensual contact and a rapid blush began adorning her cheeks.Arnav himself was surprised by his own actions.He looked away embarrassed and said "Huh what's next? "
Khushi recovered quickly although the corner of her lips still tingled at the touch." Hmm you should add the boiling water into this mixture little by little.Huh I will help you " She poured the water as he began to mix.
She divided the cake batter between the sandwich tins and switched on the oven "This has to bake for 25- 30 mins.After that it will be ready " she said while checking her watch.
Suddenly the air in the kitchen became uncomfortable as they both don't have anything to do other than wait for Aryan and for the cake to bake.Arnav checked his watch "Where is Aryan its been more than half an hour since he left "
He was about to give him a call when the front door opened and Aryan barged in with a big smile "Got everything you need.Is the cake ready yet? " he asked sniffing the air.
Khushi laughed at his expression " Not yet Aryanji.It will be ready in a while.Meanwhile lets prepare the icing " she said as she took the cover from him and emptied it on the table.
This time it was Aryan who prepared the icing as Arnav and Khushi watched.He heated the chocolate and cream in a sauce pan until the chocolate melted.Khushi is a big addict for chocolate and she could already feel her mouth watering at the smell.
Unknown to her, Arnav observed her every child-like expression with a slight smile on his face.At the sound of the beep.Khushi turned towards the oven excitedly "I think its ready " She carefully took the cake out of the oven and touched it tentatively.It was firm and she smiled triumphantly "Great it has come out really well "
They sat down in the drawing room and chatted for a while as the cake and the chocolate icing was left to cool.They still have half hour left for the clock to strike 12. As Aryan and Khushi were talking, Arnav felt irked whenever Khushi laughed at something Aryan said.He knew his brother is a charmer and girls falling over him isn't a big surprise.But somehow he couldn't imagine Khushi as one of the other girls.He was shaken out of thoughts when Khushi got up to check the cake and the condition of Icing after a while.
"Aryanji , Arnavji its ready.Come here ! " She called happily.Khushi carefully removed the cakes from the tins by running a knife inside the tin and loosening up the cakes.
She then gave one layer of the cake to Arnav and asked him to spread the icing on top carefully..Once its done. Aryan topped it with the other part of the cake. They then transferred it to a serving plate and Khushi began spreading the icing all over the cake with a palette knife while Arnav and Aryan watched intently.
When it was 5 mins to 12, Khushi finished the topping with chocolate chips and placing cherries on top.With the icing she wrote "Happy Birthday Poo " then smiled at the twins "Its done.Lets wake up the birthday baby ! "
Aryan left to wake up Ananya while Arnav and Khushi made their way to Pooja's room with the cake in hand.When they reached the stairs, Khushi asked Arnav to wait for a minute and ran to her room to retrieve the gift.
At exact 12, they sneaked into Pooja's room and Khushi screamed " Happy Birthday Poo ! " and the lights came on.Jerking Pooja away from sleep " What the ! " Khushi laughed when she heard the famous phrase of Arnav come out from Pooja's lips.
Aryan laughed "What the nahi Shorty.Happy Birthday! " He said and gave a big hug.Pooja now fully came awake and smiled widely "Thanks bhai I thought you guys forgot! No one mentioned about my birthday " she said looking at the smiling faces of her mom, brothers and Khushi.
Arnav smiled "How can we forget our chutki's birthday? Happy birthday " Arnav cupped her cheeks and gave a soft kiss on her forehead.Ananya too hugged her daughter and kissed her forehead "Happy b'day beta "
Aryan grinned "And now is the time for the big surprise" Aryan moved and revealed the cake they had made exclusively for their sweet sister.Pooja looked at the cake and squealed "Oh my god ! Chocolate cake ! "
Khushi grinned broadly "Poo do you the speciality of this cake? " Pooja looked at her in question " It was made by your brothers specially for you " she said smiling at Aryan and Arnav.
Pooja's eyes widenend in disbelief "What ! You both made it ! I cant belive it" She jumped excitedly in happiness and cut the cake.
After Ananya fed her, Pooja smiled broadly "Oh my god Bhai's this is so delicious the best cake I ever had ! thank you.This is such a great surprise! Love you both " she hugged Arnav and Aryan happily. She then hugged Khushi " Thank u so much I know it must be your doing.Love you girl "
They all handed over their gifts to Pooja and she was smiling endlessly.This is the happiest moment in her life and a very memorable birthday.
Arnav was so delighted to see his little sister happy and the credit goes to the smiling beauty standing across him.He looked at her and smiled at her for the first time.A genuine smile of thanks.He is not good with words and he hoped she understood how thankful he is for making his sister's birthday the most memorable one. Though he wouldn't have admitted to her, he had enjoyed their cake making session.
Khushi smiled back at him.She was surprised to see a totally transformed Arnav today.She cant believe this is the same Rakshas who went through lot of trouble and made a cake for his sister.And his smile, Khushi thought adoringly.She had rarely seen him smiling and today the effect of it left her speechless.
Even after getting to their own rooms an hour later, Neither Arnav nor Khushi could forget the earlier moments they shared in the kitchen.It felt so domestic and comfortable.They finally drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
