Lol @ the options chosen for DP and Sonam. Sonam is barely in BMB and if CC2C and Race 2 have been included for DP then Players, Thank You, Aisha ought to have been included for Sonam too as she sucked as much as DP did in those roles if not more!

Sonam was always touted to be a better actress than DP since Saawariya came out, in fact before it even released (at least on this forum) merely cos it was a SLB film as opposed to Farah Khan and yet DP won more accolades. And I think that's reflected in their career overall as well.
Sonam is stuck in the same kind of roles- D6, Mausam, Ranjhana and now BMB, at least from a superficial level, you just get the same vibe from her whereas DP has Lafange Parindey, KCK and the more commercial types- Cocktail, YJHD to her credit as well, proving she has more range at this stage.
Their dialogue delivery leaves a lot to desire but DP has a slight edge over that too as she's at least improving.

Sonam is experimental with her roles.. Voice modulation wise they both sail in the same boat , in terms of expressions Sonam is a lot better. So its Sonam for me

Deepika is overrated, cocktail wasn't so challenging

deepika is much ahead of sonam, sonam is still cocooned in small town girl roles or simple girl in her films, the fact that she is having home-production facilities, with daddy Anil kapoor making Aisha for her and now making Khubsurat remake for her so vry early in her career reduce her efforts, the girl needs to slog it on her own and breathe out of comfort zone. putting minimal makeup and desi wears does not necessarily make sonam artsy, gutsy, avant-garde actress at all. deepika with her dialogue delivery limitations can boast of more variety of characters in her filmography. her recent lineup is enough to show more vastness in character choices.

deepika's edged past sonam from the time she selected the blind dancer girl in lafange parindey very early in her career, the film flopped her performance went unnoticed but i still rate that performance of hers even above some of her successful films like that bakwas over-hyped Love aajkal...lafange parinde is still one her best performance, deepika also did freedom fighter kalpana datta's character in ashu gowariker's period film with abhishek, another good performance which went unnoticed. deepika experimented within her reach much earlier and much more than sonam even Sonakshi sinha raced ahead of sonam, the traditional and desi look roles sonakshi does way better than her. anushka who debuted much later is also ahead of sonam.
