Kushikumari... This is the exact reason I love doing this... Coz someone points out yet another little hidden gem... Something that you missed in all the times you see it and didn't see it...Loved what you said!!! He really is not in the habit of molesting girls... Is very hands off with La ... So I am sure ... Like you pointed out ... This was definitely a WT* !!! Moment for him... You've done the impossible... Made me love the scene more than I already did!!!!

Really enjoying your dori analysis. It's one of the pivotal moments of IPK, and one that I revisit ever so often to understand better.
@bold That was also my reading of the scene. Arnav snapped at Khushi's words, had to make her pay for finding his weak spot, and instinctively realised how to hurt her most: through badtameezi. He broke her dori. And then was hit viscerally by the repercussions of his action. Khushi turned her back to him. His eyes were drawn to her (almost) bare back, catapulting him into naked lust. So, in a sense, he'd surrendered control to her. And he remained under her spell, until Khushi (whose mind was engaged) found a way to cover her back - by swinging her opened hair over her shoulder. That action finally snapped him out of his lust, making him realise if only for a moment the innocence of the girl before him and the enormity of his actions, his appalling loss of control, before he shut the thought down. But that swing of hair held him back from further harming Khushi, and he let her go. It was her hair rippling in waves down her back that softened his lust, maybe threading it with remorse.
Incidentally, in another scene later on after first marriage when Arnav is about to berate Khushi for taking so much time in the bathroom, Khushi once again swings her wet hair back, and catches him by surprise. When the hair hits his face, Arnav becomes dazed enough to lose track of what he was about to say. The attraction to her hair is quite powerful.

Hey ...

Sorry dont know ur name .. & calling u bug was insolent or badtameeze .. 😉

Absolutely wonderful analysis ... BANG ON .. i kept the lust portion out of my analysis simply coz i was hoping someone wud enummerate what i wanted to write better than me .. & its like my thots pouring out thru ur words but much much better written ..

Yes lust is what hit him .. & hence through out the serial .. whenever she was close to him .. be it in anger .. sadness .. happiness whatever be the emotion ... ARNAV was lost ... thats one continuity maintained in the serial ..

U have brilliantly .. romantically described another essence of IPK ... LUST & LOVE hit Arnav way before it was acknowledged by Khushi ... coz to Khushi .. Arnav always seemed unattainable .. he was "TAKEN" ... so she never let herself feel ...

Love the takes on DC ... u guys make me fall in love with the serial more & more ..

Thanx a ton for sharing this with me ...

Beautifully said!!! You have uncovered a whole new angle for me...😊 The bold portion... Really I have never thought of his attraction to her hair.. Coz I have been so pre - occupied with his love affair with her back...And The til on her cheek... 😛Now that you say it... Remember the time he puts her hair down after the sangeet...

Redwine, thanks for compliments. Overwhelmed that my post actually made sense! Please call me Sabs.
@BOLD: Brilliantly put! "She never let herself feel", And this complicated with her innocence and inexperience with love, prevented her from realising her true feelings. And even when tears ran down her face after achieving her goal of reunion between Arnav and La later on, she didn't know why.

Thanks for reminding me of the Teri-Meri dressing room scene when he releases her hair from the clip with an "ab theek hai". Can see the connections clearly now.
@BOLD: What about the til on her cheek? I seem to have missed that completely. Do tell.
Another key scene involving her hair was actually the "almost kiss" scene. After repeatedly examining in minute detail the sequence of events that led to Arnav's monumental loss of control by the pool-side, I've come to the conclusion that it was Khushi pushing back her bangs that snapped his tenuous hold over his self-control and impelled him in a dream state towards her.
Until that point he'd just stopped going away, turned around, run his eyes up and down her form, taken in her nervous hands, tense face...But it was the moment she pushed back her bangs that he advanced on her, drawn to her like a puppet on a magical string.

Hi Sabs...
Please stop doing this!!! 😃...You are pulling me deeper and deeper into an abyss... And I was already fathoms deep!!!
How wonderfully right you are... Maybe the straw that broke the camels back??? He himself has pushed her hair off her face several times prior to the epic pool kiss... And even here ...the first thing he does is gently push her bangs away...but remember the guest house faint, Nanital road side blue tooth, fever in the hotel... Mitti in her eyes...I died and went to heaven at all these moments... And think I saw you too...😃
About the Til... Maybe I see too much or am full of it ... But his first kiss was not so much a kiss on the cheek as it was on her Til... I like to believe... He lies awake haunted by it... What a Vella I am!!! And even much latter when they are married ... All his kisses are angled to her upper cheek... Where the Til resides... Like I said maybe I am full of crap??? But sapon may to manahi nahi hai na???

Ipoona, what to do, can't shake this obsession, so need someone to share in it.😃 Ahhh, all those push-the-hair-off-her-face moments!! Like the yummy New Year bed-share... 😃
Yes, now come to think of it, the first kiss was on her til. Although, thought the kisses are largely angled on her upper cheek for propriety reasons, but will (gladly) revisit the scenes. When does he lie awake haunted by it?
