No I think...he is related to sanju's mom's death...it doesn't mean that he did...but maybe his family and her family had something related her mom's death

At the end of it, maybe Prithvi is really Varun's missing elder brother, pretending to be a different person. The rest of the family may have been wiped out by Anu Shukla, Varun brainwashed into thinking she's his sister, his brother disguised and hiding, and keeping a watch on the mysterious professor. More or less an Ekta Kapoor thread, but likely- and a chance missed by the writers again.
