Those films all had heart-breaking endings but they were meant to be tragedies - the beauty of the movies were their endings. SC can't run the same way because it's a daily soap and it would be considered a flop if the leads don't end up together. I don't think the HDDCS track will happen because it would just be illogical. It would make more sense for SLB to follow the original novel.
