Moms- the only sensible ones

Youth intellect and male intellect are an oxymoron.

Saras and Kumud- too impulsive and rushing to conclusion. VC- a hurt father whose samann has been hurt.

VC> Did you even think once why those people are so desperate to get their son married.

Saras> You have hurt her many times but she always came back. This time was one too many. Dont take your loved ones for granted, especially in matters of such magnitude.

Kumud> Agree you are hurt. I would be okay if you never forgave Saras...but why do you want to takes such a huge risk by marrying a guy you dont even know. Breathe!!! You are an independent woman, better things may have been in store for you.

But who are we to judge. We are not in their shoes.

But moms> They may cry and weep but they are not weak. A mom is a mom is a mom- always emotional but oh so pragmatic. If only they had more power to make decisions!

That's a typical household in India.. more so in villages.. Dukhba had said that she will fight with the gods up in the heaven if any disaster falls on Kumud.. Today she has nothing to say other than console her daughter... Guniyal knows her daughter is already married mind, body and soul to Saras.. Will it be possible for her to live with another man? but this is how it had to happen.. lesson for everyone..never take your loved ones for granted like you said.. In love there is nothing as your pain and my pain, its our pain.. If only Saras had shared his grief with her..they together could have worked out something.. Lovely post though I don't agree with everything but yet the gist of the whole thing is very apt. That speaks the story of a typical Indian household where the elder male decides everything while the ladies stand in a corner and nod irrespective of their approval or disapproval. Some call it doormat-ish but Ahh Why degrade the situation sometimes it's done in the name of love and sometimes just in the name of being obedient.

Anyways how I wished Gun and Dugba could stand up and talk. Hope Kumud breaks this monotony albeit in the other house.
