The Return of Bani Walia

Part 1

Tarun hands over the papers to Mr Anil Deshmukh for him to look. Mr Deshmukh is the owner of a chain of Super Stores in Pune by the name of 'Desons'. His is the oldest business house dealing in retail sale in Pune. Mr Deshmukh's sons want to expand their brand outside Pune, to which Mr Deshmukh is a little apprehensive, he is comfortable with the 5 Super Stores in has in Pune and its suburbs. They are going extremely well but then the younger generation. Mr Deshmukh looks into the papers of terms and condition of the purchase of land he is interested in Kandeveli East, the suburb of Mumbai is growing fast, though there are many malls already but then it will be a good idea to start from there….he looks up to Tarun….Mr Sablok, so finally the owner has decided to sale but don't you think the price he is demanding a bit too high even for that area…..

Tarun: Yes Mr Deshmukh, I agree but then the position of the land is also very good, in fact that was the primary reason for our approaching him. It is on the way to the film city and on the road….but I am not happy with the payment terms suggested by the owner alongwith the possession of land…though Mukesh your son has agreed but I still want your opinion……Mr Deshmukh and Tarun discuss and note the points to be taken up with the landlord…

Tarun puts down his empty coffee cup and is about to take leave….Mr Deshmukh thanks for the coffee, I will take your leave as I have to go back to Mumbai today….by the way…how is Bani, how are your finding her work….

AD: Oh a very sincere and hard worker, she has turned out to be a real gem, I have already confirmed her, 2 months before the probation period, and in this condition, the effort she puts in is incredible….

Tarun: Thank you so much, yes she is a sincere person but what do you…before Tarun could finish, Mr Deshmukh receives a call on his cell and by the looks of it, it seems Mr Deshmukh will take long to finish his call, Tarun waves his hand, collects the papers and leaves his office.

Tarun gives a smile to Mr Deshmukh's secretary, Radhika, hi, can you please connect me to Bani in your personnel dept please…

After dialing Bani's extension no. Radhika hands over the receiver to Tarun…

Bani: Hello, Bani here

Tarun: Hi Bani, Tarun, kaisi ho…

Bani: Theek hu, kab aye....

Tarun: Baas kuch der pehele…Bani its about lunch time, can you meet me for lunch now, in case you are not too busy…

Bani: Busy, definitely not for you Tarun, tum samne ka coffee shop me baitho, mai 10 minute me ati hu…

Tarun takes his seat in the coffee shop, looks out and remembers that on 4^th Jan'07 around 4 o'clock in the morning Bani had come at his house, looking shattered as if her whole world was lost…she wanted a favour from him, she wanted to go way from Jai and her family immediately….she said her closest people have betrayed her and she wants to go faraway from them…

Tarun had wanted to call Jai but Bani forbade him, told him if he does, she will walk away from here immediately…looking at her Tarun understood that she is serious. She wanted to survive on her own now…see Tarun, I have not gone to Pushkar, they will search there first but I do not want them to find me for sometime at least….

Tarun was leaving for Pune to meet Mr Deshmukh, his client for some years now, so asked Bani to come along…in the car he did receive Jai's frantic call, whether he had seen Bani or did Bani contact him this morning….Tarun denied and told him looking at Bani that he is on his way to Pune for a client meeting. After his meeting, he requested Mr Deshmukh, if he could help his friend out, who is facing family problems and is desperately seeking a job to survive…Mr Deshmukh was looking for someone for his personnel dept and after talking to Bani, employed her then and there. Tarun came back to Mumbai after promising Bani that he will not divulge her whereabouts until and unless she asks him to…after 15 days Bani called him up to say that now she is well settled..that was about 5 months ago…

Suddenly, Tarun notices Bani is smiling at him.. …smiling Tarun stands up and then his smile disappears…he notices Bani's bulging belly…Oh my God, she is pregnant…

Bani: Kya baath hai Tarun, tumara toh hosh hi ur gaya…don't worry yeh najayaz nehi hai…..she informs him casually before taking her seat…

Tarun:…Bani mujhe maloon hai yeh najayaz nehi hai…lekin I am sure tumne Jai ko nehi bataya, mujhe bhi nehi bataya….tumhe maloom tha jab tum idhar ayi thi, tumhara condition…

Bani: Nehi Tarun, mujhe nehi maloom tha…agar maloom hota toh shayad mai ghar nehi chhorti …

Tarun: Toh abhi tumko wapas jane me kaun rokh raha hai, Jai toh tumhe pagalo ki tarah dundh raha hai….he still hopes ….Bani raises her hand to stop him….looks outside the glass wall to control her tears…

Bani: Tarun lets not talk about this, mujhe koi scene nehi chahiye idhar…mere office ke kai log baithe hai, lekin mai tumko promise karti hu ki, I will inform Mr Walia when the right time comes…mujhe abhi apne liye jeene do, dusro ke liye jeena maine chhor diya hai…abhi mai apni aur apne honewale bachche ke liye jeena chahati hu….

Tarun: Lekin Bani is samay Jai ka tumhara saath hona bahut jaroori hai…..

Bani gives a sad smile: Don't worry Tarun, I am all right…the day I feel I need someone, I will call you and you can bring Mr Walia along….now lets talk about something else….

Bani and Tarun enjoy their light lunch together, sandwiches and milkshake, talk about Bani's work, Tarun is happy to note that Bani has settled down well and is taking care of her diet too…though she has a sad look on her face, but she is smiling and laughing easily…..her eyes no longer twinkle…

Ahh.....superb fanfic Tiny. Loved it and love Bani, Tarun and Jai already...and the baby too.

So she turned to Tarun for help and as Mamta said it good to know he is only her friend and nothing more. 😆 😆 😆 Mamta is always ready with her belans, jhootas, champals etc.. 😆 😆 😆

So at last she wants to live for her self but no twinkle in her eyes.. 😭 poor Bani I feel so sad for her.
