Laxminandan is a man of many sides. On the one, he can be generous like when he treated Kumud to a first-class birthday. On the other, he can be downright cruel saying that his first wife didn't understand him and embarrassed him with her suicide. Am quite sure that he did not understand her in the least, otherwise he would not have uttered those heartless words.
I mean, if anyone had put down Saras' mother the way he did, of course Saras is going to react angrily. Who is Laxminandan to even slap Saras? Even if it's his house, it is Saras' house too by birthright. Even more than Danny because he is the first-born son.
And just from one absence at some brunch party, Laxminandan comes down on his son for no reason. There was no need whatsoever to bring his late wife into it, or Saras' religious practices. It makes him seem so shallow and superificial like his current wife.
I agree with Saras that he and his mother had to carry the burden of this man's pride. He doesn't seem good enough for a woman like Dugba.
