You know,in a conservative Rajput royal household too Jodha would never have been allowed so much freedom of movement or speech as she was at Amer. Her mother in law would have been shocked, and would have tightened the screws on her. It would have been pretty restrictive there too. This was shown very clearly in Gulzar's Meera.Plus her royal husband too might have had a fondness for nautch girls!
It was not clear to me what the scenes with the dancing girls in the precap were about and where they took place. Did they mention that it was Ruqaiya Begum's palace? Then those dancers must have been her servant girls, for no Begum of an Emperor would consort with nautch girls.
So far, there is no indication of how Jalal treats his wives, except that he tells his mother that he remembers Ruqaiya Begum twice a day. So there seems as yet to be no reason to assume that he treats them badly, only that he has no real feelings of love/affection for any of them. They have not shown him being harsh to any woman except his mother, and there he is, rightly or wrongly, very bitter towards her, so that is a different case.
As for his comments about Jodha being forced to come to him on her own, it is a reflection more of the anger he feels at having had her sword at his throat than anything else, and soon that too, as shown in the promo, turns to reluctant admiration for her courage. So there is no need,I feel to despair on Jodha's behalf as yet.
As for the concept of women as prized possessions rather than individuals, that was very common those days in royal households. Common folk had a much easier time of it! Come to think of it, is it not the same even today with the trophy wives of rich and powerful men?
I could not understand where Jodha was going in the precap either, and that too out of Amer. And as for the reference to jauhar, they used the term even for Motibai's failed attempt to commit suicide by setting fire to herself!

well in the precap we get to see the presense of ruqaiya and all the dancers in the harem...and in one of the earlier episodes we saw teh rajpoot yodhas enjoying a show of the rajpoot dancers...i know for sure it will be very difficult for jodha to adjust with jalal's lifestyle...the way he lives the language he communicates in his ideologies..how women r treated at his place and that these women do not even blink an eye if they r treated rudely...jodha will have to go thru a lot before jalal realises his mistakes and makes amends.
