Sooraj Pancholi finally got bail and was released from Arthur Road jail today. This positive development for Sooraj happened after the Bombay High Court ruled out Sooraj's role in Jiah's tragic suicide.

Sooraj was arrested on June 10 after Jiah's family found a suicide note of Jiah, accusing Sooraj of physical and mental harassment. However, when the Sessions court failed him, Sooraj approached the Bombay High Court which proved to be his savior.

The court observed that there was no evidence against Sooraj apart from the alleged suicide note found by Jiah's family, a couple of days after her suicide. The court also noted that Jiah had suicidal tendencies as she had attempted a suicide previously too. Further, it added that Jiah's note did not specifically name Sooraj and was also not dated.

Regarding the matter of Sooraj having pressed Jiah for an abortion, the court mentioned that there was no evidence of Sooraj forcing her to go for the medical termination of pregnancy.

The court added that Jiah was extremely obsessive and possessive about Sooraj. Also, the bouquet that Sooraj sent to Jiah on her last day was a Good Luck bouquet and not a break up bouquet as claimed by Jiah's mom Rabbiya Khan.

Keeping all these in mind, Sooraj was granted bail for Rs.50000 and on condition that he reports to the Juhu police station every alternate day for a month.

Sooraj, who was arrested on June 10, stayed in jail for 21 days after Jiah Khan's mother Rabbiya accused him of abetting the suicide of Jiah.

No one's saying he's a savior or was a saint. It's just ridiculous to charge him with abetting suicide with what they've been saying. If he coerced her to abort, ummm yeah not enough. The police talked about how he lived in with her promising marriage, but didn't. Umm, again...so?

The letter itself did not say the addressee was raped her. The rest of all allegations point to a very unhealthy relationship and perhaps maybe even abusive. But you need to prove that it was abusive. And even so, it's still ridiculous to charge him for abetting suicide.

I still don't get how she killed herself. Isn't it very difficult to hang yourself? Did she use rope? Where did she put it?

I just can't put my head around it...

This didn't require a ruling at all. From all the accounts told to the public, she obviously had suicidal tendencies. As for Suraj, again, he does seems like a douche no doubt but he neither abetted her suicide nor can it be proved beyond a reasonable doubt, that he physically abused her. She was already disturbed for myriad of reasons, him being just one among many.

She was found inside the house so most likely, the noose was tied to the ceiling fan. That's how most of these celebs kill themselves if it's death by hanging (Nafisa, Kuljeet).
