Okay guys, first thing I wanted to say is that it was exactly one year ago on this day when I first started doing these predictions! It was on July 2, 2013 when I wrote my first box office predictions, and it was for the film BOL BACHCHAN. Amazing how a year flew by so fast!
Over this past year, I have been greeted with both praises and insults. I remember the severe backlash I got for my predictions for HIMMATWALA and AASHIQUI 2, but I haven't lost hope and I will continue giving predictions for as long as I want to đ

Okay, now to LOOTERA!
There are many rising stars in Bollywood. Imran Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra, and Ayushman Khuranna are some of the male actors one can think of. Another one is Ranveer Singh, and amongst the females, there is Sonakshi Sinha.
So far, Ranveer and Sonakshi have been seen in films where they were supported by other big actors/banners. Ranveer Singh has had the support of Yash Raj Films (BAND BAAJA BARAAT and LADIES VS RICKY BAHL) whereas Sonakshi has been cast opposite superstars, the most well-known being her pairing with Salman Khan in the DABANGG series.
Now, Ranveer and Sonakshi are in the same film with a director who is not known as one of the popular directors in India. How will this film fare at the box office, is the question!
Even though the director Vikramaditya Motwane is not one of the most popular ones, he is known as being a very talented director. His last directorial venture was the award-winning UDAAN. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that LOOTERA's pre-release feedback by those that have seen it is excellent!
I'm sure that Lootera will get tremendous feedback, particularily from the audience in the big cities/the multiplex-going audience.
On the flipside, the slow,dark nature, with no masala naach-gaana routine will be a huge turn-off for the masses, and the film is very likely going to perform wayyy below the mark at single screens.
But, nevertheless, the multiplex audience will make up for the losses at single screens and multiplexes will get the film to emerge a winner.
Opening-wise, film will open good, mainly at multiplexes. At single screens, the film may get somewhat of an opening due to the presence of the massy Sonakshi Sinha, but after the opening the film will tank badly at single screens.
My Box Office Predictions for LOOTERA:
Opening Day: 5 crores net
Opening Weekend: 20 crores net
Lifetime Collections: 50 crores net
Overall Box Office Verdict: Hit
The film may win some awards as well!
