I am afraid I have not seen any of the shows with the characters you have mentioned, for I watch only a few serials, about 3/4 at a time.Right now they are Saraswatichandra, Jodha Akbar, Maharana Pratap, and DKD Mahadev.

But as for Jodha Akbar, Ekta will be more careful, and I do not think she can go too far away from the historical context. She is already so worried about the kind of backlash that affected Jodhaa Akbar the film that they have put out a very detailed disclaimer that is solemnly read out at the beginning of each episode by Om Puri.

Yes he did, first with the daughter of the King of Amer. Raja Bharmal, Jodha. She was also referred to as Harkat Bai. Of course there was nothing like her being haunted by his image in the water or his risking his life in Amer to catch a glimpse of her. It was a straightforward political union proposed by Raja Bharmal, and it was very successful, it would seem. The Emperor Jahangir was Jodha's son and as he was the oldest son and the heir apparent, Jodha was the Malika-e-Hindustan, or what the Rajputs would call the Patrani, the seniormost queen.

I made one error while editing this post; I wrote that Salim was the only son of Akbar, whereas I meant oldest son. I have now corrected that.

Akbar had two other sons, Murad and Daniyal, younger than Salim, but I do not know if they were Jodha's sons too or not. Akbar had other Rajput wives too, so perhaps the restriction of just 4 wives imposed by Islam did not apply to Hindu wives. These were all political alliances. Some of the Rajput clans saw such marriages as demeaning to the Rajputs, and this included the Sisodia clan of Maharana Pratap.
