A Father's Last Wish:
This is a One Shot and One Shot only- there's no second part. This is all set imagiation, based upon sbb/sbs news we have gotten over this week. This was originally a Arjun OS for his mom and him seeking help from her, but the DK and Arjun reaction melted my heart, and I changed this for a DK- Arjun- Purvi OS.

Do comment please- it's highly motivational :)

Enjoy reading :)

God and destiny have its very own strange ways of doing things- and the same was, once again, happening in the life of Arjun Kirlosklar.

His whole life, ever since he was young was probably meant to fall apart. At each step, he kept losing someone or the other. When a young, boisterous boy, he lost his chances of coming home from school and embracing his mother into a huge bear hug. When older and young, and very much in deep love, he had lost his chances of ever fulfilling his dreams with his love. When becoming a father, he'd lost little chances of seeing his baby girl every second of the day. When married- very much into something he wished he wasn't deep down- he'd lost his chances of calling out to a childhood best friend. And now as he stands behind the cold ICU doors, hand on his mouth, eyes bloodshot, he's close to losing his father, and he really hoped he wasn't leaving him. He couldn't. He can't. This is unfair. I'm such a loser, Arjun thought.

He plopped down on one of the chairs outside the ICU room and replayed the past few days. Purvi was deceived and went missing. Ovi came back with divorce papers. Archana forced- more so begged him- to sign the divorce papers. And he did sign them- neither of them wanted to be in something in which the roads would lead no where. And just a while ago, when he was all excited to taste his father's hand cooked meal for the first time, something out of the blue took place. He rushed to the hospital in fear and worry. Everything was happening too fast. He didn't understand which to be grieved over with the most.

The doctor came out and talked to a few nurses and seemed to be in a hurry. Arjun tried talking but it was the same response he got earlier- "We can't say anything now. We are trying our best."

He heaved and sat back down in the chair. He had sent a text to Purvi earlier, unable to spit out words in shock.

New Text To- Purvi

Reply to- Arjun

What? When! How? Okay I'm coming, Mumbai City Hospital right ?

Arjun sighed at the reply. He didn't bother replying back either. What the hell is going on with my life?

Purvi stood a little a far- Arjun was completely broken- completely. She saw the tremble in his fingers and the thick pools of salty tears in his eyes- he was devastated. She knew how much she loved his mother, and that DK was his only parenting figure after her. She saw Arjun clench his fists and bring them to his mouth as he bit on to them- trying to fight from breaking down.

Purvi wiped a lonely tear with her finger and headed to the hospital religious area. Folding her hands to God, she prayed her heart out.

"Bhagwaan, this man, he's never harmed you- ever. He's always been loyal to everyone. Don't do this to him. If there's anyone to blame for his miseries, it's- it's me ... Don't take my faults out on him. Please. His life is falling apart- and DK sir is his only other hope after... after Pari. I've seen Arjun yearn for a mother's love, don't take his father away from him either. He isn't as hard as he seems to be- he'll be shattered. Please listen- You've given me strength to be strong all these months, give Arjun that same strength, give DK that same strength to fight- please."

*buzz buzz*

"Hello?"

"Purvi? Where are you! It's so late- Weren't you just in the room?"

"Dada, uhm, I'm- I'm at the hospital ..."

"Purvi! Are you okay! What are you doing at the-"

"Dada I'm fine, it's, *sniffle*, it's Arjun's dad ... I don't know what's going on, he's critical- and dada please, right now, don't tell anyone, they're already tensed. Okay?"

She folded her hands again, and made one last wish.

"You've taken my life through a roller coaster but I haven't complained. Don't make it the same roller coaster for Arjun- If anyone knows how it feels to be fatherless, it's me." She sighed and got up as she heard noise from the ICU.

She closed her eyes hoping this was good.

"What do you mean very little time? What are you saying! What kind of doctor are you? Can't you-"

"Listen Mister Kirloskar, I understand, but-"

"What but huh ? What do you-"

"Arjun, please calm- Arjun, calm down, please-"

"Do you hear this Purvi- why is he saying Dad only has little time- i don't believe this! What rubbish." He waved his hands around his head in disbelief.

"Miss- Please, understand, he has asked to meet for... maybe the last time, take him inside-"

Purvi nodded and swallowed her tears as she put an arm around Arjun's shoulders and arm and dragged a still yelling Arjun into the ICU room.

"Arjun-"

Arjun stopped his bickering and his head snapped to his father. The color from his face was gone. His lips had turned white almost, bags forming under his eyes and his veins popping out.

"Dad! Dad! You're okay right? Right!"

DK let out a small, hushed chuckle as he nodded, "I'm perfectly fit my boy."

Purvi stood at the end of the bed, she was crying now. She bit the inside of her lips. She knew what was going to happen and she wished she hadn't had a sixth sense.

Arjun took DK's hands into his hands.
"Dad what happened? What was- why were you looking at Mom's picture- uh-"

Dk gripped Arjun's hand harder.

"I was talking to her, venting out my heart to her. I can't do that everyday, and today... Arjun, was I a good father?"

"Dad of course, please-"

"No Arjun, I'm not. I've failed. I've hurt your mom Arjun- she'll hate me"

"No no dad! Mom loves you, you haven't failed dad, you're the best dad in-"

"I'm not. Arjun you're not happy! Stop lying! Your life is falling apart and i can't do anything Arjun!"

"Dad everything is fine. I'm going to work, we're doing great with our business deal with-"

"And what about your home life Arjun? Pari? Your heart? I've been a bad father- i knew what you wanted but I thought time can fix it, but it made it worse. Arjun... I've taken a long long long time to give a place to your mother- and when I let her come to me, the next moment she was gone. Arjun, the same goes for you. You keep getting chances- but you're not fast enough to catch the train forever. Arjun- true love happens once. For me, it was your mother- it was short lived, but it will always be her. Arjun, your life is just starting. You haven't lost yet."

Dk looked over to Purvi, who wiped her tears and looked down. "Come here Purvi." She walked to where Arjun sat and placed her hand on DK's.

"Do you remember, Arjun? When you told me about Purvi and then brought her home at the party? I've always seen Purvi as MY daughter in law- maybe this isn't the right time, but Arjun, Purvi- even if lovers have to separate, if they are truly meant to be together, destiny will play its games to reunite them. Don't doubt anything. Please. It's my wish- tell me you'll listen- both of you. Promise."

"Dad- I- uh-"

Dk took his hands out of Arjun and Purvi's and placed their hands in each others.

"Arjun, Purvi, promise me, you two won't wait on your story. Stop worrying about everything else. Be happy for once. Look into yourselves- Aashna came into my life and left forever. You two lost each other but found each other again, don't... don't.. lo-se lose eac hother forever, don't give dest-detiny that ch...chance..."

*beep*

"Dad!? DAD! No, no no this can't be- DAD!"

"DAD WAKE UP, DAD! You can't leave me like this! Dad please, please, we have to go to a meeting tomorrow, dad! Purvi- purvi look! Dad, isn't listening to me, come on, Dad!!"

Purvi placed her hand on his shoulder and cried. DK sir was gone.

Arjun broke down. He was done. He hugged and leaned onto Purvi as he cried his years worth of motherless pain out.

"Purvi, he's the best father in the world, best father, he's the best fath-er, father in the world" he stammered as he buried his face into Purvi's arms. Purvi stood looking at DK sir and covered her mouth to drain out the trauma.

She comforted Arjun and took him into her arms as she tried hard to stay strong to hold him up. "He can't leave me, he can't, this isn't fair"

Soham who told the family despite Purvi's no, came with Manav and Archana. They had just arrived at the hospital and watched the interaction- teary eyed. They'd just lost a dear friend. Manav looked at Archana, somewhat guilty of his previous said words on Arjun. "Don't lose each other forever, don't give destiny that chance." Those were the last words he heard of his dear friend. He looked on at Arjun's condition. He felt bad- for never being able to be the ideal second father Arjun looked up to. He's lost everything. He smiled a little at Purvi too- she tried so hard to not cry even more as she comforted Arjun. His tears were genuine.

"Arjun, Arjun, please, get a hold of yourself please! Arjun."

"Purvi, Dad- Purvi, dad, DAD, he's gone Purvi he's gone forever."

"No Arjun, not forever, not at all."

She wiped the tears of his face, a little hesitantly.

"The ones we love, no matter how far we go away from them or how far they go away from us, they're always here-" She picked his hand and placed it over his left chest. "Always here, in our hearts."

Arjun sat back down next to DK and softly moved the hairs from his father's face. He clenched his fists and held them near his lips. Purvi placed her hands on his shoulders once more and let him grieve for how much longer he needed to.

----

Okay so lol, I'm not heartless for killing off DK in this, but it was needed for the "aakhri khwaaish" and Manav's guilt to be shown and Purvi's actual realization. And i always loved DK and Aashna - forgetting the weird age gap - lol -, they were very free and simple, so to see DK all alone mae my heart melt, so this had to happen, and we all know how much Arjun loves his mother. So to hear a few words on love from DK was the main main reason :)

I hope you all liked it :)

A beautiful OS Easha potraying a father-child relationship. And of course DK-Arjun shares the best Father-son relation. 😊

I just keep my fingers crossed and hope the same happens in the show as well.. 😆

Giving a whole new meaning to the word loser....😭

And starting from the day Purvi asked of Bappa ki the one she loves be only hers ..? Bappa has been listening to her and her alone...r.i.g.h.t...😕

"Arjun, please calm- Arjun, calm down, please-"

You know that game we play wherein one person holds their hand high over an object and the other person tries to grab it out from under the first person's hand? Yeah...love has been a little like that for Arjun ...life, friend, circumstance, something ...always snatches his happiness right from under his nose ...he is not fast enough and he is too trusting
Beautifully done Esha! ⭐️⭐️ You always manage to make us see the picture!
An ArVian's first, last, only wish coming true, if only for an OS. This may be an OS but hopefully life offers more shots at happiness !

Best wishes ..always ...

That was so emotional and touching Esha...

This is unfair.
It really is, everyone this guy loves is just gone 😔

I'm such a loser, Arjun thought.
No you're not Arjun.

You know you have this knack of writing it like a script - you can visualize the gestures, the body language, everything. The actors can use this - and you'll do a much much better job than the CVs ever will.

How I wish they'd used DK more the past year, than they did in the show. This was a wonderful OS, keep it up 🤗
