There is a big tussle going on between Zee TV and Film Farms' production as to who would play the pivotal character of the lead heroine's grandfather in their upcoming family drama.


Sources said while the channel was keen on Rajeev Verma, who was last seen on the small screen as Babbu Saa in Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein, the production house wanted veteran actor Alok Nath to play the character.

On the other hand, Aksshat Gupta of Kesariya Balam Aavo Hamare Des fame, has been roped in to play an important character in Film Farms' next. Aksshat, last seen on Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna, will be playing the role of Abhimanyu, fiance of the lead heroine (tipped to be played by Umang Jain).When we called Aksshat, he said, "This is too early for me to talk. I am in talks with them and am still waiting to sign the contract."

Alok Nath said, "Yes I have been contacted, but talks are on." When asked how does he plan to handle this character as well as Hats Off Productions' new show Dadaji Ki Diary, he said, "The role in Film Farms' show is not supposed to be very long, so I think I can manage fine."

The background of the show will be Jaipur, where the crew will start shooting after monsoon. As reported earlier, Umang Jain and Arhann Behl are tipped to play the leads in the show, which will be directed by Hemant Prabhu.

Arhann will play the character of Shiv Neherwal, who works as an assistant in the lead heroine's house.
