Saumya Tandon (Rusty in Aisa Des Hai Mera)
If you follow a certain pattern in life, you don't need to diet," says the lady with killer looks. "I have divided my whole day's food intake into five meals. I start off my day with a very early breakfast comprising fruits -- papaya and apples are a must, and I toss in seasonal fruits. "My next meal is at 11 am, when I have different salads and sprouts. Salads give you much required water and keep you feeling fresh and alive!" Saumya, like most of her co-stars, avoids the lunch served on sets. "They add a lot of oil to the food prepared in the sets. I get my food from home. I have a simple lunch comprising rice,
dal and
sabzi. Since we work in the afternoon, I don't think any one of us should have a heavy lunch." In the evening, Saumya goes western and has pasta or a light sandwich to satiate her hunger. "I wrap up my day's meal with a very light and early dinner -- vegetables,
dal,
roti and a little bit of rice." Needless to say, dinner too is a home-cooked meal.
Saumya shares her personal food philosophy, "I don't deny myself any food. For example, if I want to have ice cream, I don't stop myself -- I have a little bit of it. That way, you don't crave it. The more you deny yourself, the more you will crave it and have loads of it at the slightest opportunity! "
