If we watch from a historical perspective...then we cannot see Akbar as a villain...because History's Akbar was a pious religious man,who had a lot of respect for women...and who had an immense amount of respect for the Rajputs...he was a stern, strict ruler...but was not like this...

But if you keep that view aside...and just watch it as Ekta Kapoor's show with no expectations and Comparisons...then it will be easier to watch...because she wants to show that Akbar was a cruel man,who knew only blood and war...who was a brilliant warrior...but when Jodha marries him and enters his life, then he understands the true meaning of love, respect, compassion, humility...and how he turns into a great emperor...

Akbar was my favorite character in history...but whatever...just watch without expecting anything...

The disclaimer for the first episode clearly stated that the serial does nit depict the actual events that happened. They also said that the characters and events are different and have been changed to suit the storyline to create a plot. This means that this Jodha Akbar has no similarities what so ever to the historical real life story

How do you know that the history we read in text books is 100% correct? Jalaluddin Mohammed did the same as his invader ancestors did. He had a very big harem where he had collected wives and concubines. These women were not just muslims but hindus as well who were conquered and taken away as war booty, an evil which was practised by the Islamic invaders.Generations have passed down the history of Akbar which you won't find in text book courtesy secularism. However, he was a diplomat of the first order and he later got influenced by Hindus like Birbal ( Mahesh Das ) , Todarmal and his queen Jodha.

Because Ekta Kapoor always emphasized on women power and doesn't ever give credits to the men in her show.
Same thing she is doing here by making Akbar look like a heartless psycho with no boundaries and Jodha the antidote to his crazy life.

Cause this show is the outcome of Ekta Kapoors thought. Here everything is possible...it is not a true picture of History...
