There was a time when he was shooting almost 10 films a year and he was on every hoarding and billboards. People wanted to dance like him and dress like him. However, Mithun Chakraborty, is one star that never let stardom go into his head. He was always grounded even at the peak of his stardom.
The disco dancer, who recently turned 66, speaks exclusively to Namaste Times about the advantages and disadvantages of stardom. He was a huge star during the 80's, but today, he reveals that those days were some of his loneliest days. "I was under pressure when I reached super stardom. I was so scared, I had no friends. I had made more enemies than friends. I was alone and that was very frightening," he said.
While a lot of people envied the position he was in, little did they know what was going on inside the then superstar's mind! He reveals that every day he would be tense with the fear of falling down. "I don't know how Mr. Amitabh Bachchan handled it because he was a bigger superstar and he still is," he added.
