to support such a situation , would require selfless authoritative initiatives by the govt .

and i dont see the likes of that happening when parties like BJP and Congress should be in power !

No one wants to be China. Yes, we want their economy. Maybe even their military power but not their blatant disregard for people. So, we don't need a one child policy. We need something to the likes of Planned Parenthood that targets all demographics, not just rural stay at home parents. Incentives to get their tubes tied, free/affordable and accessible contraception & condoms, abortion clinics, reproductive health and information centers. This is purely for the long haul. I am almost certain we have excuses such as budget deficit and we got better problems lined up but this is the only way. Democracy as large as India cannot withstand one child policy. We are good at rebelling😉 Jeez that did not come out right but whatever DEAL
