It is similar to "Sati daho"" When a hindu man die, his wife used to be killed burn alive, it is kind of similar hindu thing !! Not for glory or for honour.

Actually Sati and Jauhar are two different things... Jauhar is mainly mass suicide done by queens and other women of Rajput family to save their dignity at the hands of Muslim invader when their men got defeated in the battle ...
Sati is done by the wife of the ceased man...Initially it was done more by one's will later it became a practice...
