I find the character Manthan very interesting. The actor is also good. He definitely has an axe to grind. He has some resentment towards his mother's dominance and the fact that Manav gets to do what he wants. Plus he is stuck with a wife who is the slowest of the lot. They will slowly reveal his agenda and why he is such a trouble maker, but some people's personality is like that, they just enjoy stoking fire.
Agree.
My take ... have you noticed that the elder three sons call Umaben Baa, and Manav and Mansi call her Mummy? My take is that Manav and Mansi are youngest after some gap, so Manthan was the youngest for some time, till Manav appeared ... hence he got all the attention earlier, and now he's deprived of it ... Manav now the youngest laadla beta, and Mansi the only girl . Seeds of jealousy sown from there.
(Although they haven't shown Mansi being especially pampered as the only girl, but she does get much more freedom than any of the three bahus do. And Manav definitely gets away with a lot more with his mom.)
Plus it's quite obvious that Manthan is not very happy with his marriage ... he is a sharp fellow, and his wife is completely dumb. While she's funny to watch, living with a dumbo must be very irritating ...
And now Manav has got married to the girl of his choice, while Manthan is stuck with Sanjana.
I also want to know why Thakkar bhai is so keen for his daughter's rishta with Manav. He's seen what UB is like ... it's obvious he is buying his way into the rishta ... does his daughter have some handicap or is she dumb like Sanjana, that Thakkarbhai is so keen on the match, even knowing that Manav is head over heels in love with Chhanchhan? Waiting for that part to become clearer too.
