Seriously YJHD is modern day classic?

Finally watched the film. After reading the reviews thought I will be watching an extraordinary entertainment flick. But I am so much disappointed. The film was very ordinary and predictable. The minute it began I knew what the end will be.Even DDLJ was predictable. But none can deny the fact that DDLJ presented a very ordinary story in an extra ordinary way.But 100% scenes of YJHD are not only recycled from old movies but also lifeless.
The film is a bad mixture of DDLJ,KHNH,HAHK and other block buster Hindi movies.
The dialogues were so cliched and most of them were copied from other Chopra and Johar movies.
I did not feel the love between Kabir-Naina.
Naina just fell in love one fine morning.
Kabir saw Naina with another guy and realized his feelings.
These things are so predictable.
At least they could have executed the over used scenes and dialogues in a new way.
The only plus point of this movie is Ranbir and Deepika.
Deepika stole the thunder from Ranbir also.
I was watching her and not the movie.
The interactions among the 4 lead characters are praiseworthy.
Take out the 4 leads and you will get a ordinary rom com.

I agree I still couldn't understand whether bunny loved her before the eight years leap
The story was very predictable
But it was better than most Bollywood movies I watched
Plus deeps outshone ranbir
But this is no way a classic 🤣

I kind of agree with every thing you just said.. but for me the movie was mainly: Bunny. I was watching it just for him, and I loved Kalki too. But the story was just so ordinary.. even though I like Ranbir and I am glad its doing well. The fact is that it does not deserve to collect more than 150 cr. etc.

And DDLJ. People always forget it how DDLJ was indeed a classic and the story was NOT ordinary in those times. It seems ordinary to us now because we're so used to it and many other films copied a lot of scenarios from DDLJ later on.. but DDLJ was one of the first ones to represent a story in that way, where the guy does not run away with her but decides to stay there and win the heart of her family.
