Hi All!

As we say goodbye to the year 2006 and look forward to the new year 2007, this quiz is based on arts / literature and science of the ancient times. Enjoy!

1) Which was the first book published it Sanskrit? Whose creation was the story? What year and where was it published?

2) Name the two text versions of the oldest religious scriptures known to man.


3) Identify this following manuscript that describes one of the oldest and widely applicable theroems of mathematics.

A: 1) Rig Veda composed between roughly 1500–1300 BCE
2) Zoroastrian Avesta

3) Identify this following manuscript that describes one of the oldest and widely applicable theroems of mathematics.

A: Book I Proposition 47, the Pythagorean Theorem: the square on the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares on the sides. Its Ancient Greek Mathematics written in around 300 B.C.

You got Answer 3 absolutely correct . It is the pythagoras theorem. 👏

and 2 partially correct.
the oldest text --> Rigveda - correct 👏
the two versions --> Padapatha and Samhitapatha

From the time of its redaction, the text has been handed down in two versions: The Samhitapatha has all Sanskrit rules of sandhi applied and is the text used for recitation. The Padapatha has each word isolated in its pausa form and is used for memorization. The Padapatha is, as it were, a commentary to the Samhitapatha, but the two seem to be about co-eval.

ya... but im still searching about sanskrit and sorry... no clue about it 😭 I never knew anything about sanskrit ... but i can tell about Urdu 😛 😆

no. I can give a clue by demand.

Also, please focus on the fact that it was the first book printed / published in Sanskrit.
Many other Sanskrit books were translated in English and printed before this one as translations!
