A small town girl

Part of the ' low life' of the town

With loads of pride and ambition

And determination to crawl out of my hell hole

And reach for the skies

I wanted it all,

Money, name, respectability

But women like me

Derogatorily called ' nachaniyas' and some much worse names

Don't get too many chances

Men flock us, but for the wrong reasons

We get name and fame but of the wrong kind

And I, Guman, refused to settle for that

But to escape my destiny,

I played all my cards, the only way I knew

For in my world, there are no fathers or brothers, who will find a groom for me

And no suitors who will ask for my hand in marriage

I just did what I had to,

But even to this day,

After almost 25 years of being Mrs Lakshmi Nandan Vyas,

I Guman have not been allowed to shed my ghunghroos

Not by my husband, who treats me just as a beautiful show piece

Not by my stepson, who worships his mother

Not by VC and Dugba, who still blame me

For putting my happiness above theirs

And now, in ratnanagri , I see it all the time

In their eyes, in everything they say and do

That I am a lowly nautch girl

And nothing will change that

Today i live only for my son Danny

If 25 years of respectability cannot erase the blemish of a few years of wearing ghunghroos

Then nothing ever will

So, today I will avenge every insult, ever word spoken against me

After all I am Guman, and Guman means pride

And pride does not FORGIVE,

This is awesome !!

Feeling sorry for Guman for the first time !!

This lady must have gone through a lot to be in her position !!

Yeah we should walk a mile in her shoe to know about her pain !

well guman dearest problem is all in ur thoughts my lady

if only u learn giving

giving love to a motherless child rather then being busy with parties

if only u learn forgiving

forgiving people for their actions and be their on there sides in need rather then mocking them

u r too much in love with power and money ...and love for these two always ends the way u r getting it and u will keep getting the same...unless u decide to change

if u wont may be one day ur own son may forsake u !!!

ps : i dont like the way dugbaa treats u but then ur actions make be justify her

All I can say is, maybe, the indignities I suffered in the past, have shaped my thoughts, and people who taunt me till today for what I once was, will understand my pain only if their own daughters too get

Labeled as I have been.

Hence my obsession with bringing shame to Kumud and Kumari, for only then will VC and Dugba fall from the pedestal they have placed themselves on, just because they were born into respectability and I wasn't, .

I want to see them too struggle year after year to wipe off the badanami ka dhabbas from their daughters.

So true, while her past made her vengeful, she got an opportunity to rise above that,

Shanas point is also right her motives today are questionable!

I do feel bad for her when she is insulted for her past

N i say that pride is not a virtue but a vice if it is excessive ( just like suppressed pride also)
Gumaan has excessive pride and she also wants to move in life not by laying a foundation with the bricks life/ppl have thrown on her but instead by throwing those bricks on others so she is already doomed to fail.

And true, her pride which gave her the courage to dream big and change her destiny is also her biggest failing, as it has made her vicious.

But I was trying to see her as a young and beautiful Guman, willing to go any length to get out of her ghetto!

But till today she sees her disreputable past in the eyes of others!
