SHOT 1
New Delhi
Rajveer and Shaurya are tired after getting off from the metro station. The metro stations are crowded. Rajveer looks at his hands. The dirt from the handle bar of the metro is imprinted on his hand. He tried to wipe it off but the marks stays.
Shaurya - "I told you not to hold the handles and bars. It is very dirty."
Rajveer - "What can I do? If I didn't hold anything, I would have fallen on someone and in worst case, if it is a girl, I have to ear all the good words about me."
Shaurya - "There is a sink. Let's go."
Rajveer washed his hands to get rid of the stains. Shaurya too washed his face and hands.
Shaurya - "But Delhi metros are not as dangerous as Mumbai metros where people hang on the doors."
Rajveer - "If you want, you can also hang and inspire many people. So Delhi metros will turn deadly."

Shaurya - "Come on, Rajveer. It is a thrill."
Rajveer - "Did you get a heart surgery for hanging at metro rail's entries?"
Shaurya - Just kidding, Rajveer. You are not at all understanding jokes. You are very boring."
Rajveer - "If I am boring, how would I be the most popular guy in our university?"
Shaurya - "Oh hello... It's not only you. We both are the most popular guys. If I am not there, who would have paid attention to you?"

Shaurya laughed.
Rajveer - "Oh really?"
Shaurya - "Do you have any doubt?"
Rajveer - "Whose workout videos are most liked in Instagram? Yours or mine?"
Shaurya - "But it is my workout videos that goes viral."
Rajveer - "Wait, I'll upload my diamond pushups video in social media. Our uni will go crazy."
Shaurya - "I have my own sets of videos to go viral."
As they are arguing, Shaurya hits his shoulder with a pillar carelessly.
Shaurya - "Ouch!"
He has hit his shoulder badly with the pillar.
Rajveer - "Oh no.. this is why we should see the front while walking."
Shaurya - "Bhai.. stop your nonsense and help me."
Rajveer made Shaurya sit on the bench. He takes a pain relief spray from his bag and give it to Shaurya.
Rajveer - "Apply only on the area where it pains. Don't spray everywhere. Then relax for some 10 minutes."
Shaurya applies the spray over the area where he hit.
After ten minutes, Rajveer - "Has the pain reduced?"
Shaurya - "Yeah, I am alright. We can move."
Shaurya is about to wear his shoulder bag. Rajveer grabs from him.
Rajveer - "I'll carry it."
Shaurya - "How can you hold it all?"
Rajveer placed Shaurya's bag over his trolley and hold it along the bar.
Rajveer - "So one hand will hold your trolley and your bag. Another hand will hold mine. So let's go."
Shaurya - "I know very well that my bag is very heavy. You better give it to me. I can manage"
Rajveer - "Just shut up and walk with me, Shaurya. Don't argue always."

Rajveer started walking moving the trolleys.
Shaurya posed like a NCC cadet and said, "Yes sir," with legs going to attention pose.
Rajveer and Shaurya laughed.
Rajveer - "Come on, bhai."
Shaurya and Rajveer get out of the station.
Shaurya - "On tomorrow, freshers are coming to our college. We should not miss the chance. And first impression is the best impression. We should get at least some handful of juniors as our followers."

Rajveer - "Don't worry. We will impress them for sure. Guess we can do a small performance in front of them."
Shaurya - "Don't forget, bro. We have to get bikes as well."
Rajveer - "Sure."
They soon reached their PG hostel.
Rajveer and Shaurya are the second year B. E. Information Technology students in the most prestigious Delhi University. They hail from a humble background and they secured a seat only because of their merit. They are best friends since childhood. They were classmates from 1st standard to 12th standard of their schooling. They don't want to part ways for college so they took the same course in the same college. They are the heart-throbs of the university. They are excellent in academics with a CGPA of 9.5/10 in both their semesters. Rajveer is very active in football while Shaurya is passionate in cricket.
Both of them aim to contest for the positions of Student Association President and General Secretary in their final year. So they are trying their best to get popular among their peers, juniors and seniors. They lied about their financial status that they belong to a very rich and affluential family but they actually hail from a very poor and struggling family. They believe that people with power can do anything and they want the control.

Next day
Shaurya and Rajveer step out from their poorly maintained cheap PG hostel in their branded best. Shaurya sports an oversized Zara T-shirt, his long hair tied back, a hint of neck jewellery adding to his rugged, spoiled-rich-boy vibe. The shirt, with "Zara" boldly printed along the sides, hides its true origin that is a bargain find from the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk.
Beside him, Rajveer keeps it effortlessly cool in a well-fitted jeans, sleek sunglasses and crisp white shirt with two buttons kept open to display his well-built chest.
They stroll to the end of the street, where a white Audi waits like a promise. Sharing a knowing smile, they approach the car. As they peer through the tinted glass, the door swings open. A girl steps outside. Simple, yet strikingly elegant. Her understated grace is a quiet contrast to the loud confidence the two boys carry.
Rajveer - "Palki, sorry for being late."
Shaurya - "Yes, Palki. We slept late in the night and didn't even hear the alarm in the morning."
Palki - "Seriously? Today is the first day of our college. And we will be 45 minutes late at least for the first lecture. Just hope that faculty let us attend the lecture."

Rajveer - "Don't worry, Palki. We can bunk the lecture and start our day from 2nd lecture."
Shaurya - "Rajveer is right. How about bunking the lecture?"
Palki - "Will anyone believe that you both are toppers of the department? You guys are shamelessly talking about bunking the first day class. I don't want to hear your nonsense. Get inside the car. We will be attending the lecture even by falling onto lecturer's knees."
Shaurya - "People don't believe that we are the toppers just like how they don't believe that we both are your friends."
Palki - "How funny! Just get into the car."
Shaurya and Rajveer get inside the car. Palki asked the driver to drive the car.
The car embarked on the journey to the college.
Delhi University
Despite arriving an hour late to college, Shaurya, Rajveer, and Palki were still allowed into the lecture, a courtesy extended only because of their affluent backgrounds. The rest of the class, however, simmered with irritation, especially since the professor had turned away three other students who were merely ten minutes late.
One of the boys sitting nearby leaned toward his friends and muttered, "Money makes many things happen. If these three didn't have it, our lecturer wouldn't have even looked at them, let alone let them in. If I had that kind of money, I'd do anything I wanted."
Palki's jaw tightened at the remark, and she shot him a cold glare.
Shaurya, without missing a chance, turned to the boy. "Can money buy you, Mr.? If so, what's your price?"
Rajveer and Palki burst out laughing. The boy glared at Shaurya for a moment, then turned away in silence.
The lecture dragged on for another half-hour. When it finally ended, the professor stepped out, leaving a ten-minute gap before the next class.
Shaurya and Rajveer slid their notebooks toward Palki.
Palki chuckled, "You guys are in second year, and I still have to write your names in your notebooks?"
Shaurya smirked, "That's because your handwriting is beautiful. If you write our name, register number, and subject on the first page, it'll look neat."
Rajveer added, "Yeah, and your handwriting is like a lucky charm for us the whole semester."
Palki shook her head with a smile and began filling the first pages for both of them.
Palki - "Shall I draw two hearts in it?"

Shaurya - "Inside the heart, shall I write our names? Palki caged Shaurya in love."
Palki shies away.
Rajveer - "Guys, I guess I am third-wheeling here. I should go."
Rajveer is about to stand while Palki and Shaurya made him sweet.
Palki - "Sorry, our focus will be on work."
She opened Shaurya's notebook. It is a chaotic scrawl spread across two full pages, no better than a doctor's prescription.
"God! How did you manage to write this much in just one hour of lecture?" she asked with her eyes wide.
She flipped open her own notebook, revealing barely half a page of notes.
Shaurya shrugged with a grin. "I don't know... sir kept giving key points, and somehow the pages just filled up."
Palki then turned to Rajveer's notebook.
"At least yours isn't as over-the-top as Shaurya's," she said.
"I only write the important points," Rajveer replied. "The rest I can remember by connecting the dots."
"I don't believe in taking notes at all," Palki countered. "If you listen properly, you can remember everything. I can even remember how many times sir said the word listen".
The three of them burst into laughter.
"When the output's the same, why worry about the input?" Rajveer said with a grin.
"Yeah, bro," Shaurya agreed.
"By the way," Palki said, "For freshers, classes starts today. Shall we go meet them?"
"Sure," Shaurya replied.

Lunch break
Shaurya and Rajveer rode their bikes through campus with Palki seated behind Shaurya. Riding inside campus was against the rules, but no one stopped them as they believe their lies that Shaurya is the son of a real estate businessman and Rajveer is the son of a businessman. What no one knew was that the second-hand bikes actually belonged to their colony friends, polished and decorated to look brand new.
They parked in front of the lecture complex. Slipping on their jackets and sunglasses, Shaurya and Rajveer walked in with a confidence that drew every eye. In a campus where most dressed modestly, their bold style left the freshers staring.
One fresher walked up. "Bhaiyya, is that new bike outside yours?"
Shaurya smiled - "Yes, buddy."
"How much did it cost?"
Rajveer - "About four lakhs. Customization added another lakh."

Shaurya added, "Mine's around six lakhs with customization and servicing."
The fresher's eyes widened. "Bros, your bikes look amazing! You must be really rich."
Shaurya smirked. "Yeah, chotu. I'm thinking of replacing mine — it's not flashy enough. I'm looking for someone to buy it. Interested?"
The fresher beamed. "I'd love to! But... can I confirm you later? Will they allow me to ride inside the campus?"
"Why not? Just tell our names to them. No one will question you," Rajveer said.
The fresher walked away, and the two friends laughed.
"These kids..." Rajveer grinned. "No one knows these bikes are second-hand junk. Perfect for showing off."
"Exactly," Shaurya agreed.
Half an hour later, their meet-and-greet with the freshers wrapped up. Rajveer and Shaurya had them hooked with a friendly, funny, and already promising a grand freshers' party.
Fresher - "Bhaiyya, will there be music?"
Rajveer - "Music? We'll have enough bass to shake the hostel walls."
Shaurya - "And food that'll make you forget the mess menu for a week."
Fresher - "Sounds expensive..."
Rajveer (grinning) - "It's only expensive if you can't afford it."
Shaurya - "And we don't do anything cheap."
The boy laughed nervously, already sold on the idea.

Evening
Shaurya and Rajveer came to the 'Five Feathers Club' to book the club for their freshers' party. Palki too accompanied them.
Palki - "Guys, don't you guys feel that it is too much? You're throwing money like it's nothing."
Shaurya - "For us, it is like an investment. Spend now, earn it back double later."
Palki - "Shaurya, this is money you earned through hard work. I get that you can make more from your freelancing, but wasting it like this? It's not worth it."
Rajveer - "You're looking at it like it's just a party. We're looking at it like it's a campaign launch for the Student Association elections. A grand one. You win the freshers now, you own the campus later."
Shaurya - "Exactly. The first-year students don't know us yet. If we give them the best party they've ever seen, they'll remember who made it happen. They'll trust us, follow us, vote for us."
Palki - "So you're basically buying their loyalty?"
Shaurya - "Call it what you want. We call it influence."
Rajveer - "If we win, we don't just get titles. We get power — connections, access, opportunities to represent the university across the country. That's a platform you can't buy later."
Palki - "And you think all of that is worth emptying your pockets now?"
Shaurya - "Money comes and goes, Palki. Power stays. Once we're in control, we set the rules. People don't just respect you but they need you."
Rajveer - "And when people need you, you never have to chase anything again. Not grades, not jobs, not approval."
Palki is upset. Shaurya cupped her face.
Shaurya - "Palki, we know that you're not agreeing with us. But for us, we have to prove ourselves. We are not hurting or looting anyone. We just said a lie that Rajveer and I are rich. It is because money attracts people easily."
Palki - "I know why you are after these money, power and posting. But still I cannot figure out why you are crazy about it. You guys just lost it. You seem to go too far."
Shaurya - "Yes, we know our limits and trust us, we won't be unethical. And thanks for being with us. Even though you're a simple girl who use public transport to come to the college, you decided to use your Audi car to help us establish our lie."

Palki - "I can understand your situation. But, it is wrong. Just imagine.. what will happen if anyone come to know the truth that you are not rich."
Shaurya - "It won't happen, Palki. We are confident."
Palki - "Hoping for the best."
As they came outside the club, Rajveer accidentally hits a girl and she fell down. Rajveer helped her to stand up.
Rajveer - "I am really sorry. I didn't see properly."

The girl is adjusting her hair that came to her face and push it to the sides.
Rajveer - "Devi..."
The girl looks at him.
Devi - "Rajveer? How are you here?"

Rajveer turns aside.
Devi - "Oh hello, I didn't come to take your interview."
Rajveer - "I am neither interested."
Devi - "Years have passed but not your arrogance."
Rajveer - "You are speaking as if you're some sage. Have manners first of all. Can't you walk properly on the road? You wantedly came and hit me."
Devi - "Oh, Mr. Hero... Look at your face in the mirror. Do you think that a girl like me will try to impress you? I have my standards."

Rajveer - "Standards and you... When you broke up with me, your standards went downhill."
Palki is clueless about what is going on.
Palki - "Shaurya, who is she?"
Shaurya grinned, "She is Devi Roy Chowdhury. Rajveer's ex-girlfriend. They loved each other for 2 years. Class 11 and 12. But the broke up."
Palki - "Is she our college? She is wearing the ID card?"
Shaurya looked at her ID card closely and exclaimed, "Oh, God!"
Shaurya - "Hi Devi. Nice to meet you."
Devi - "Hi Shaurya. But I am not feeling nice to meet you."
Rajveer - "How dare you to speak to my friend like that? What do you even think of yourself?"

Rajveer and Devi are about to get into a physical fight. Shaurya holds Rajveer's back while Palki got Devi's back.
Shaurya - "Guys, you both are behaving like vegetable vendor and customer."
Devi - "Anyways, I am not interested in these childish fights."
Shaurya - "By the way, you are wearing Delhi University's ID card?"
Devi - "Because I am studying in Delhi University."
Rajveer - "What? A stupid girl like you.. studying in a big university like DU?"
Devi - "I'll break your jaws, Rajveer."
Palki - "Actually, we are also studying in the same university. Sophomores!"
Devi - "What a disaster! If I knew that this Rajveer is here, I would not even come to Delhi."

Rajveer - "So you didn't get IITs. Your drop year went waste. How lame.. Is it because you were distracted due to other boys?"
Devi - "Just shut up, Rajveer."
Shaurya - "Just leave, guys."
Devi - "I don't know how I am going to live with a duffer like you for my whole college life."
Rajveer - "Same to you."
Rajveer, Shaurya and Palki left from there. Devi too moves in her direction.

One week later/ Lifeline hospital
Palki is yawning as it is 7 AM in the morning. Shaurya is not dressed in his fake branded costume but a simple t-shirt and jeans. He is waiting anxiously in the hospital.
Palki - "Don't you think we are early?"

Shaurya - "No, we are not."
The nurse called Shaurya's name.
Shaurya entered the doctor's cabin with Palki.
Dr. Shiv smiled at Shaurya and Palki, "Welcome back, Shaurya boy. Please have your seat."

Palki and Shaurya have their seat,
Shaurya handed Dr. Shiv a sweet box.
Dr. Shiv - "Pastries.. Interesting.. Is this made by you?"
Shaurya nodded, "Yes, doctor. Specially for you."
Dr. Shiv - "Thankyou. But I should hide it now and eat it later. Else, my patients will think that their cardiologist is eating sweets while advising them not to have sweets."
Palki and Shaurya laughed.
The nurse entered and gave the reports to Dr. Shiv. Dr. Shiv read the reports and give the report to Palki.
Dr. Shiv - "I should be telling this in front of your parents. Where are they?"
Shaurya - "They told me that they will be late."
Dr. Shiv - "I guess, you are early. But anyways, I won't be testing your patience. Congratulations, Shaurya Juneja. Your heart transplant is successful, officially and medically."
Shaurya and Palki smiled.
Shaurya - "Will I get my send-off gift? I know that my parents are also against this but.."
Dr. Shiv - "Shaurya... I cannot reveal the donor's identity."
Shaurya - "I just want to thank them. Nothing else."
Dr. Shiv - "What if they don't want to hear the gratitude. Let them deal with their loss."
The door is opened with "Excuse me, doctor."
Shaurya and Palki turned back. It is his parents Nitin Juneja and Faalguni Juneja along with Rajveer.

Rajveer looks at him shocked as Shaurya lied to him that he won't visit the hospital due to tiredness.
Dr. Shiv asked Nitin, Faalguni and Rajveer sit.
Nitin - "Sorry, doctor. We are late."
Dr. Shiv - "No. Shaurya and Palki are early."
Faalguni - "How is the transplant, doctor?"
Dr. Shiv - "The donor's heart has accepted Shaurya's body. Now Shaurya has to accept the heart that he can lead a normal life without fear."
Faalguni, Nitin and Rajveer smiled. The five comes out of his cabin.
Rajveer hits Shaurya's stomach in friendly banter, "Why did you lie that you won't come to the hospital?"
Shaurya - "I didn't lie. I felt better then so I am thought of giving surprise."
Nitin pulled Shaurya's ears, "Then, why didn't you come with us? You could have picked us from the railway station. But poor Rajveer came in the chilling morning."
Rajveer - "So what uncle? Even I am also like your son only, right?"
Nitin smiled.
Shaurya - "Papa, even Rajveer is also like your son, so technically one of your sons came to pick you. If he didn't go, I would have come."
Faalguni - "Badmash... (naughty). Rajveer beta, please teach him something."
Nitin - "Rajveer is the Shravankumar in this generation for whom any parent would wish for."
Rajveer - "But my own parents left me in the orphanage."
Rajveer gets dull. Shaurya got his back.
Shaurya - "If your mom and dad didn't leave, would you have got a best friend like me?"
Rajveer smiled palely.
Nitin - "Rajveer beta, we cannot change the past. But we can live the present and change the future."
Faalguni - "Reach such height that your real parents should regret their decision of leaving you and then coming to you for apology."
Shaurya - "If my real parents came for apology, I would never look back at them. I just abandon them just like they abandoned me."

Rajveer - "But I want to know why my parents abandoned me. And I will find them one day and find the reason as well."

Shaurya thinks, "I will find my heart donor and thank them for sure. I want to make them feel happy that their loved one is alive inside me."
To be continued...
