Winner of Masterchef Season 3 is Ripudaman Handa

The biggest battle of taste buds finally came to rest with announcement of Ripudaman Handa as winner of the Masterchef India Kitchen Ke Superstar. After a struggle of over 14 weeks, he won the Golden Apron and 1 crore as prize money by defeating Navneet Rastogi and Doyel Sarangi in his photo finish. First runner-up Chef Navneet won a year's paid internship at the Courtyard Marriott while Chef Doyel came third.

The final week had two challenges each worth 250 judges points and 500 points through public voting. First challenge was to prepare a scenic multi layered desert and was won by Chef Doyel. Famous TV personalities Gurmeet, Shabbir and Pratyusha were seen encouraging and supporting the 3 finalists.

Later during the week we saw eliminated participants joining the finalist for over an evening filled with fun n frolic along with their signature dishes for dinner. Judges Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Vikas Khanna and Kunal Kapur too joined them and gave away the awards for most crybaby participant to Yasmin, best dancer to Nisha, wierdest dish name jointly to Aditi and Devyani and most shy person award to Khoku.

Second challenge involved – Usage of 3 molecular gastronomy techniques for cooking. Chef Doyel selected jellyatrics to prepare Lajawab Machli Bengal Ki while Ripu choose spherification and foaming for his delicacy Chicken Mast Kalandar and Chef Navneet worked on his strength and prepared Faturi Chaska using dry-ice flavoring technique. The result of the second challenge combined with public votes was to be announced in the finale episode.

Grand finale episode of the show was telecasted yesterday i.e June 14, 2013 on Star Plus. The show was hosted by Star Plus latest host Ravi Dubey. The one hour episode showcased rib tickling performance by lady comedian Bharti Singh. Ranveer Singh andSonakshi Sinha enthralled the audiences during promotion of their upcoming movie. They also made the finalist shake a leg on hindi song.

23 year old gym instructor Ripu had auditioned for Masterchef with sole intention to make his parents proud by creating a new identity of his own. He was bang on target from the word go. His innovative twist in Indian dishes and consistent performance not just won him many accolades from the judges and also the coveted Masterchef tittle.

It is said that you can live a different life with television, a life of your dream such reality shows prove these points. It's not just a dream but inspirational stories that makes them super special… Rightly said by Chef Kunal that "Ripu is a proof that if you want to change your life and choose a different path. It is just few steps away and you may win the lottery of your dream with a sheer passion, hardwork and respect towards your work."
