Umm, did you read the short summary of SC's story, as originally written, in the Show's Overview? It says that in the end, Kumud does not get married to Saras, but to someone else. Yet, Saras continues to take care of her family, out of love and a sense of duty, probably.

But, hey, Kumud can still marry and go to Dubai!

P.S. I liked this show but stopped watching when read of this sad, sad fact. A fairy tale love story with a non-happy ending? It's best I stay away. -_-
