A reality that's swept under the carpet because no one wants to hear the truth.
But it's sad... A friend of mine married a guy who's gay and poor thing, for 4 years she lived with him.

Finally, couldn't deal with his lies and has now filed for divorce.

Maybe if society let gays come out of the closet, at least innocent girls' lives wouldn't be ruined.

But isn't this reality? Isn't this what people in Pakistan are currently living in? Why is it controversial when such awareness is needed for society. I mean yes it does certainly make things awkward if your watching it with your family... but then again some dramas need a restricted audience age group. And Humnasheen from the start is a drama which young kids shouldn't be watching... I don't think Hum is trying to promote Gay people. In today's age finding out about gays is so damn common no matter how much your parents try to hide it from you... why not then just teach your children the difference between what's wrong and what's right. Instead of hiding these issues from them and acting as if this stuff doesn't exist, I'm sure if parents teach kids the truth and tell them how severely wrong it is, this wouldn't be such a huge issue.
By the way, the amount of gay and lesbians living in Pakistan is beyond our reach of thinking...
All of it just hasn't come out of the closet yet.
No wonder the country is affected by all these natural disasters, and punishments in the form of poverty or illegal acts.

I watch Humnasheen and I absolutely love it. It is serious but it took on a few social issues and presented them really well. The writer of the show, is I believe new and she wears hijab, so I am assuming she is a practicing Muslim. I commend her for writing about these issues.

I knew from the episode after the girl's marriage that her husband was gay and the issue was going to come up. It was so glaringly obvious and if people are surprised now then I am shocked because they should have been prepared.

Yes to see something like this in a Pakistani show does give you jolt still. The image was very blurred, really the viewer had to infer what was happening.

My roommate is a lesbian and she is a great person, a great friend. I am somewhat religious but in the end, I have never judged her on her sexual orientation. I will leave it to Allah.

But no one wants to see this on tv, Paki dramas were the only thing left which were appropriate for us to watch with family!

I don't know what happens before this scene but looks like it's lifted from Page 3.. is it?

Nothing, she comes homes, is going into a room but hears music coming from another room so she goes towards it and opens the door. Her husband was supposedly supposed to be gone for a few days.

I commend HUM tv for being so bold and amazing for showing the reality of life. This happens all around us in the world and not showing it on tv doesn't make it less real or make it for away.

They didn't show anything it was all implied and inferred.

What is atrocious in the show is the fact that a young innocent girl is married off to a married man who is twice her age. Poor girl is forced to give up her boyfriend, her children, her innocence, her dignity. She had no choices but to live this life.

I love the show for highlighting all the different ways women are victomized regardless of socio-economic group she belows.

I can't believe how judgemental people are being...as someone before me said...judgement should be left to Allah.

That's right... It's all inferred. A young mind might not even get it... And it's good they're talking about bitter realities.

It was shown in a tasteful manner, and ok for a family audience IMHO.
