OS My Husband is a
It had been three straight weeks since both Arnav & Khushi had come back from the Gupta House. It had been three weeks since Khushi had known the truth, the real truth of their marriage. Contract Marriage.
She had tried extremely hard to tell Arnav that she was innocent. She had burst out everything related to Shyam that evening when they were returning to Raizada Mansion but later she wanted to prove that she was right and that Shyam was one evil person. But seeing Arnav's cold attitude towards her for days and how he had always pushed her away Khushi let him be.
He had strangely stayed away from her. She hadn't been expecting such a reaction but he wouldn't even come inside the room if she was inside. He wouldn't speak in front of her or talk to her. He wouldn't even sit for breakfast, lunch or dinner. He would come late at night and only have a cup of coffee. He would spend as much time as he could in his office. Even everybody else had started complaining about it and that one time in these two weeks she had heard his voice was saying "Due to leaving for Gupta house a lot of things have been left behind and there is a lot of work pressure so I need to get back on track." That is what Khushi had heard; the last time she heard his voice. He was present physically but he had seemed too lost yet too attentive. Things had strangely gotten worse between them. It was as if he couldn't wait till the sixth month of marriage and he would kick her out.
With that being, Khushi had indulged herself in books. She wanted to do something that could help her think wisely, bring her mind at peace and most importantly take her mind out of the situation she shared with Arnav.
She missed everything. She missed annoying him like crazy, his what the's, going to the wash-room first so that he'd purposely get late, using his bed, taking over his wardrobe, being an affectionate wife and calling him Swami. Now he wouldn't spare a glance at her; she missed his voice.
Khushi mostly spent her time sitting by the poolside with Jalebi's and loads of books to read. Currently she had been obsessed about Vampires. She had read love-stories recently but what caught her interest the most was these creatures. She had wondered if she was one what would she do with the powers like that. Specially mind reading. Her silly thoughts had also wondered off to Arnav being a Vampire. The way he was these days certainly resembled to that of a vampire but Khushi had shut her thoughts off saying that it was too much and such things definitely did not exist.
*
It was almost midnight and Arnav still hadn't returned. She had become used to this but all this late-coming hadn't started until the 5th day in RM. He looked unusually worn out that day, Anjali had offered him food but he denied. He had only whispered coffee and left off to the room. And when Khushi had returned to the room after the days heavy work, the room was dark and the only light was being given my the moon-light that came through the closed windows of pool-side and he couldn't be seen.
Khushi was reading through her book she had just bought from the old-book store, The Vampire Diaries. It was extremely quite and the rustling of the leaves caused by the slight wind could be heard only.
"Elena stumbled down the dim corridor" Khushi read through it when suddenly she got startled by the door opening with a creak.
She got up with the book in her hand and looked around the dark room only to be lit by a lamp. She slowly advanced to the door while whispering "Hey Devi maiya"
As she reached the door which was slightly ajar, she opened it fully with a jerk to find nothing but just an empty corridor. Khushi's heart-beat had become faster than before.
"Kuch bhi tou nahi hai. It was just the wind and also I've been reading too many Vampire stories. Haan isiliye!" Khushi comforted herself smilingly and turned around to get startled by Arnav who was standing as still as a statue.
She had started to scream but Arnav had put a hand over her mouth. After another second she pushed his hand away which seemed heavier and stronger than before because he hadn't even flinched.
"YOU SCARED ME!" Khushi yelled.
"You'll wake everyone up." He said calmly as if nothing had happened.
"What do you mean I'll wake everyone up? You scared the shit out of me! When How Where did you come from?" Khushi said as she kept a hand on her heart as if it would calm her down.
"The back-side of poolside." He said coolly and stepped a little away as if remembering something before eyeing her from top to bottom.
"You never use that door, how come you" Khushi said but Arnav cut her off.
"Can you get me some coffee?" He had taken his coat off, rolled his sleeves, opened the top two buttons of his grey shirt in a second as Khushi thought and he asked her sweetly while looking into her eyes.
As if forgetting everything, Khushi astonished, walked up to the side table to place her big, black and red book upside down which caught Arnav's attention.
"Vampires" He whispered and smirked.
As Khushi reached the door and was about to go downstairs to make him coffee she heard him say
"You shouldn't read these you know." He turned around and took two steps as if he was stalking his prey.
"II find them interesting." Khushi managed to whisper. Suddenly everything around her seemed too confined and she needed air.
"But do you believe in them? I think you do because the way you were scared of me was as if you'd seen a vampire." He slightly chuckled.
"Nono I don't believe in them. They aren't real anyway. It's just a book." Khushi said defending herself.
"You never know what's around you Khushi" He said huskily and walked towards her. "You should be careful of me specially." He whispered just two inches away from her face.
Khushi was frightened of him. Her body was shivering and her heart just wouldn't calm down. She saw his eyes change colors; from chocolate brown to black and then again to its original color.
You are hallucinating Khushi, she thought to herself and stepped back.
She saw him smirk devilishly before taking a few steps backward and running downstairs.

Why was he acting this way? Khushi thought. Since three weeks he hadn't talked to her and hearing his voice somehow made her mind peaceful. But he was ASR, why would he do this after what had happened between them? How can he just come out of the blue and start talking to her as if nothing had happened?
Khushi kept muttering and cursing under her breath while preparing for his coffee when she felt watched. She looked around to find nothing. She walked out of the kitchen with his mug in her hand and looked here and there but she found just empty space and furniture. And there was her heart-beat again going all crazy.
They weren't just any eyes that were watching her but his eyes. Khushi knew, somehow.
"What the hell is wrong with you Khushi? Stop picturing Laad-governor as a Vampire!" Khushi hit herself on her head when she heard his voice again.
"You've been picturing me as a Vampire?" He whispered huskily as he stood an arms length from her which startle her again.
"Would you stop doing that?" Khushi said louder than usual.
"Doing what?" He smirked.
"Appearing out of the blue and scaring me. It freaks me out!" Khushi said as she stirred his coffee hurriedly.
"I was just" Arnav stepped closer when Khushi cut him off.
"Here is your coffee. Main sonay ja rahi hoon." Khushi quickly said and left him alone in the kitchen.
*
Khushi was pacing up and down the pool-side wondering what was wrong with him today all of a sudden. Khushi looked at her book and closed it in anger.
"Not reading these ever." Khushi closed her vampire book and put it on the pool-side table. Just then her attention was caught by the back-side of pool-side. It was locked.
Where did you come from?" Khushi said.
"The back-side of poolside." He said coolly.
Khushi's gaze shifted to the book. Vampire.

Khushi had been standing in the same position since 10 minutes. Khushi quickly shook herself out of her thoughts and turned around when she crashed into Arnav.
"I have to go to the wash-room." She said swiftly without looking at him and tried to leave but he had held her arms tightly.
"I'm thirsty." He whispered.
"You're just joking. I know, you're trying to scare me." Khushi's voice was enough audile for Arnav to hear.
"I'm not joking. Since you know what I am I don't think there is anything to hide." Arnav put a hand behind Khushi's neck.
"No, they don'texist"
"I can prove it." Arnav said as his eyes turned a darker shade.
He titled her neck as the thunder growled above them. He slowly got to her level and tightened his hand around her waist. He felt her quiver under his hold. He could feel her heart-beat rapidly changing speeds. He placed his lips right on her neck as he kissed her lightly, making her gasp and him smirk devilishly.
