Was HEROINE really that BAD?!!!

😉😆 Can only post topics under this name. Anyway, I wonder about this now after nearly 9 months the movie released. HEROINE was overhyped because of Aish's exit. I feel bad my favorite actress lost the movie. But, MADHUR didn't make such a bad movie. Kareena was an excellent choice, because her acting was great in many scenes. I loved the scene when Randeep Hooda ended their relationship, the scenes with Divya Dutta, and her rejection on adopting a baby (that was top-notch). So many scenes displayed her acting talent and Madhur did extract her vulnerability! I have watched the movie at least 3 times back and forth now. I remember I took my American friend to see this movie. He became a Bebo fan after watching this movie. 😳 Was HEROINE really that BAD?! Please share your thoughts. 😲

I personally liked the movie & kareenas acting too. I also liked the songs besides kareenas item number though.

havent watched it yet and havent really heard anything good to make me want to watch it. usually if im not interested in watching a movie based on the trailer or the actors or director, sometimes the reviews will get me interested but for this movie the reviews werent that great so had no inclination to watch it.

Yes the film is bad to people like us on this forum who knows every gossip about Bollywood and their actors...but to people like my mom who isn't on this forum and doesn't care about what happens behind the scenes in Bollywood...they would enjoy it more. I remember when I first watched it in theater..I was like really Madhur..there was no moment in that film that shocked me...because I already knew how bitchy actresses are towards each other and what they do to get ahead. But my mom isn't aware of that and she loved it. I recall though when I walked out of the theater a lot of ppl were curious so they were asking us how was the movie and not a single person said they liked the film all they said was the acting was good.

Usually I need to watch a film the second time to decide if I love it, like it, hate it ect...Heroine is on Netflix now and I watched it again...bebo is obv the best part in that film but also certain scenes and the struggle Mahi goes to for being bipolar were done very well esp by bebo. Like the first scene were Arjun character kicks her out of the car and she comes to the police station..bebo's acting there was brilliant and Madhur also directed that scene very well..it was suspenseful..you want to know why she was at the police station and why her manager wouldn't let her file a report.

I also loved the scenes with Mahi and the cricket player. Too cute. The actor..forgot his name..was really good.

I also liked the scene where Mahi talks to the senior actress (Helen) and asks her about how was it back than. And Helen tells her actors got along very well back than.

The scenes with Mahi and the lesbian actress were done very well. Both had great chemistry. And I really liked their friendship. Mahi is not really a likable character but with the lesbian actress..she was was likable. Mahi is also likable the scenes she has with Helen. I love the way she respects the senior actress and Helen was the only person who can make her smile and peaceful.

My problem with the movie was that it was very stereotypical. Madhur didn't really offer anything interesting or new.

For me the movie was better than average ..The extra better was because of Bebo ...It was not that bad is it made out to be in this forum ..But repetitive

I personally loved the story...but i dont think kareena was the best choice for the film...even though she was great in the glamorous parts and looked gorgeous throughout she couldnt pull through in the intense moments...

I thought she was great in the intense moments..she gave me goosebumps but am also her fan so maybe am bias or maybe am not..I am not blind I know when bebo acts bad...I feel like she did well in the intense scenes. Yes in some of the scenes she went OTT like when she was screaming..but she also had a lot of great intense scenes where she nailed it. She made me believe Mahi was bipolar so I guess she understood the character well. Throughout the movie you can tell she understood her character pretty well... there was not a scene where i felt she was not in character. So I think bebo was the right choice.

The only scene I recall being disappointed at how bebo performed was when she looks in the mirror and asks her PR manager if she was pretty and if she was a good actress. Nit just how bebo performed that scene the direction that Madhur gave her sucked too...it was pretty cheesy. Did she have to look in the mirror to ask that question? Did she have to touch her hair? It was a pretty lame scene and both Madhur and bebo failed at it. It just didn't seem believable!

There were a lot of bad direction in this movie and in the majority of the scenes bebo saved Madhur because of her acting.
