love and misery are indeed strange friends! friends bcoz they bring out such an enormous change in a person!
that was my first thought on watching qh today.
today i literally saw a "kaya palat " of all the main characters of the story.
ayaan- the third wheel in this story , whose road is yet to be found and tread upon is my first observation. so far we have seen ayaan in various moods- we have seen him be childish, scared(for his ammi and abbu during jail seq,), flirty and most importantly the base of his entire character sketch- compassion! ayaan is the most compassionate person in the story- u never see him judge anyone, yell or actively, cause harm. but today the proverbial straw fell on his already burdened back! he has been enduring and at the same time resisting the injustice to his family all around- him being forced in to an alliance with his bff to imrans weakness in supporting nikhat to haseenas greed and taunts. but today the insult to his mother was way too much(iam not even going to talk about shireens character, no point u see!😉) and that brought out something we have never seen in him- a burning, simmering volcano of anger and today the lava has started spilling. i dont know if razia is capable of handling and bottling it as usual or this time it is too much for her to do so(hopefully the latter happens). also my minor prediction is this will land ayaan in jail from where zoya and asad bring him out and he finally enters khans villa- my zoya needs as much support as she can get!
my next observation is zoya- zoya has always been the most outspoken of the three characters and she has always been direct and to the point, one of the many things i like about in this beauty. but today i saw another angle of her- a silent zoya. even when asad usually shouts at her for no fault of her own i have always thought zoya held herself commendably. asad is not an easy man to live with in any way and zoya always managed to make herself heard despite that. but today she was silent.silent when she slowly revealed her greatest secret- the one known only to the closest people in her life like her aapi. it takes tremendous courage to come out infront of a person like that especially one you love and she did it. but the most striking part of it was her silence(fantastic job by the creative team!!!!!!! u nailed it!!!!!!👏)the silence also showed her fear- fear if he would accept her like this. and her elation when he did!it was so subtly portrayed!!!!!!! surbhi, hatsoff!!!!!!!⭐️!the entire sequence showed an emotionally grown and mature zoya and in future this is the shade that will be seen the most coz she needs that to be the bridge between both the families, the buffer to their differences.
and finally to mr.aak- damn , but everytime i watch qh iam reminded strongly of how much ksg has grown as an actor! today he was so good in each and every scene.asad is a man who rarely lets his emotions control him and when overwhelmed with emotions asad hides his turmoil behind cold and cutting words . but today every emotion on his face was easy to read!!he was childishly excited to see zoya in the suit he brought, he was disappointed when he did not get his wish, but still holding true to his words in his" third" letter he made an effort in trying to findout why so. i was dreading that he would hold a grudge and would have a tiff with zoya where she would be forced to wear the suit but the creative team again showed gr8 sense and turned what could have been a regular shouting and yelling( they must have heard my prayers to make asyas relationship of more understanding nature😊😃😉)into a beautiful scene. his honest and somewhat innocently child like admission that he wanted to see her in that dress!- again fabulous expressions by ksg!!- it showed a vulnerability asad had never letout infront of zoya-that he wants to be right especially about her coz he cant bear that anyone else gets to know her as he does- and zoyas indulgent smile was exactly what he needed!
and finally the reveal- the best part was they didnot show any widened eyes and shocked expression on asad- i dont know how many of you agree but the blankness that ksg brought out on his face when asad saw the scar- that was nailing it- asad is a man who rarely lets his emotions be read on his face and when emotionally overwhelmed asad always hides himself. the blankness of his face said exactly how much he wanted to hide his shock and pain at the thoughtof what this beautiful girl in his life had faced. he could have stared away coz he rarely can see a beloved of his hurt but he knew how much he would hurt zoya if he did so bcoz it took gr8 courage on her part to stand vulnerable in front of him and he was aware of that and he would hurt her if he did so. but the cherry on the top were his simple words" u r beautiful despite this" - something perhaps a few days back asad would not have been able to say- a change from an emotionally closed off asad to an asad who is letting the girl he loves know exactly what she needed to know -that he has accepted her! it was definitely a big thing to hear ,for zoya ,but even bigger one to admit for asad!
so as i said "kayapalat"!
a compassionate ayaan to an anger filled one
an outspoken and bratty zoya to a silent and understanding one
a burning anger filled asad to an asad filled with love
