Viren and Jeevika were ready to go by 7 am but little Zaaine was too cosy inside his bed to get out.
j - "Zaaine come on we have to go. Look both of us are ready and you haven't even taken a bath"
z - "But mommy it cold and me sleepy"
j - "How about we get you some coffee downstairs. But first you need to get up"
z - "Mommy 5 more minutes"
j - "Zaaine please"
Zaaine started crying as he didn't want to go anywhere. He could care less about seeing the Statue of Liberty and of going getting his favorite "coffee" from Starbucks.
j - "What should we do?" she said getting up from next to Zaaine
Viren sat down next to him trying to get him up.
v - "Zaaine what if it snows and you don't get to play because you wanted to sleep? You won't get to make a snowman or have a snow fight right?"
z - "But daa it cold"
v - "I know don't worry once you change and put your jacket on you will be warm"
z - "Promise?" he said wiping his tears
v - "Pinky promise"
Zaaine sat on Viren's lap hugging him feeling his warmth as Viren took him inside the bathroom to quickly get ready.
It took Viren only fifteen minutes to get Zaaine ready. As soon as he was, Zaaine ran outside to Jeevika who had his jacket ready. She kneeled down helping him put it on.
j - "Ready to go now?"
z - "Sleepy mommy"
j - "You can sleep on the subway"
z - "What is subway"
v - "Its like a really fast train underground"
z - "How fast?"
v - "Very very fast"
z - "Mommy you carry me please?"
j - "Okay, lets go" she said picking him up
The three of them left and went downstairs to the Starbucks first. Viren went to go get something to eat and drink while Jeevika sat at a table with Zaaine half asleep on her. She tried waking him up by saying random things in the hopes he would ask her his long list of questions.
v - "Zaaine here's your coffee"
z - "No hungry"
v - "You want me to finish it up then?"
z - "Yes"
v - "I got extra whipped cream on it. You sure you don't want it?"
Zaaine looked at Viren smiling and he smiled back 😳
z - "Okay little" he said taking his hot chocolate.
v - "Here's a caramel latte decafe for you"
j - "Ughh decafe" 🥱
The three of them left after Zaaine finished drinking his hot chocolate. He got even sleepier now and clung onto Jeevika as a magnet not letting go of her for a second. As soon as they got to the subway Zaaine was fully asleep on her.
v - "You want me to hold him now?"
j - "Yeah" she said as Viren took him.
The two of them were sitting on the subway waiting for their stop which was still a little while away.
v - "I don't know if I'm happy or sad that he's not asking questions right now"
j - "Same. Bringing him in the winter to New York was kind of a bad idea"
v - "I can see that now"
j - "Maybe the Statue of Liberty is good enough. Hopefully it will snow today"
v - "Seems like it. Its freezing cold"
j - "Ohh why don't we take him ice skating near central park. Or at least he can watch the people ice skate. And if it snows he can have fun in the snow there too"
v - "Yeah only when it snows though"
j - "The forecast on the iPhone shows tonight and tomorrow it will be snowing"
v - "What time is everyone's flight at?"
j - "Uhm Karan and Zoya come tonight and Manvi Virat tomorrow morning"
v - "By the way' do you know whats in three days"
j - "No I forgot' Obviously I know Viren" 🥱
v - "So did you get me a gift already?" 😳
j - "Nope no gifts for you"
v - "Why not?" 🥺
j - "Too lazy to get you anything" 😆
v - "How mean" 😡
j - "Did you get me anything?"
v - "Well"
j - "Well what?"
v - "Well you're going to be having a daughter because of ME in a few months"
j - "Oh congratulations. Of course you did everything right? I mean all I do is carry her around inside me for nine months. No biggie" she said sarcastically 🥱
v - "Yeah thats right" 🤣
j - "Dumbo"
v - "Thanks"
Zaaine woke up and looked at Jeevika.
j - "Mr. Sleepyhead is awake"
z - "Still sleepy"
v - "My god Zaaine how much do you sleep?"
z - "Lots and lots" he said putting his head back on Viren's shoulder.
v - "Zaaine you know mommy forgot to get me a gift for our anniversary?"
z - "Noo daa"
Jeevika stared at Zaaine telling him not to say anything'
v - "Ohhh so Zaaine what did Jeevika get for me?"
z - "Secret daa" he said laughing 😆
Jeevika started laughing with him too.
v - "No one loves me" 😭
z - "I love you daa" kissing his dad on his cheek
v - "No you don't. You love Jeevika more than me"
z - "No love you and mommy same.. pinky promise"
v - "But I love Jeevika more than I love Zaaine"
Zaaine moved his head from Viren's shoulder seeming a little concerned and upset by this statement.
z - "Why you no love me more?"
v - "I was joking. I love you the most in this world"
z - "But you say you love mommy more than me"
j - "No he doesn't. We both love you the most, happy?"
z - "pinky promise?"
