A source close to the show says, "The story is coming to an abrupt end. If you see the episodes you will figure out that everything is moving very fast. Aroonaji is certainly not upset; she is rather busy with her new soap Doli Saja Ke Rakhna for Zee. We don't understand why Vaidehi is being pulled off air, when it was doing reasonably well. But there was no channel interference." Vaidehi's lead protagonist Pallavi Kulkarni is very upset with this decision. "When it turned to a daily, I was not really sure of doing it. Actually the show is a high budget one, though it was not doing terrible, it wasn't doing exceptionally well either. Most probably it was the channel's decision to bump it off as it didn't meet their expectations," asserts Kulkarni.
Sachin Sharma, the protagonist of the show thinks otherwise. He feels that the storyline has come to a clear end. "The show was doing well. We knew that the show will have a definite end. Vaidehi has been a great experience; the one thing I will miss is working with Aroonaji. She is a wonderful person." Sandiip Sickand, Creative Director, Sony says, "The story was coming to an end and it not going off air because it was not doing well. There was no question of giving an extension to the show." On being asked about what will replace the daily, he says, "Bigg Boss is there to fill the breach." Recently two shows on Sony, Ek Ladki Anjaani Si and Rishton Ki Dorr were given an extension. "Rishton Ki Dor has been extended for a year. The TRPs of Ek Ladki Anjaani Si have gone up so the show deserves to be on air. Let's see how it shapes up in the next four to six months. Also, it's time slot has been changed from 8.30 pm to 9 pm as Kulvaddhu steps in from 25 December," says Sickcand.
