Who said shiv's cheating on Gauri?

Not at all. Shiv has always loved Ipshita and now when he passionately declares it to her....and not for the first time either, I'm sure, ur all up in arms!

I feel sorry for this benighted couple. That sort of love and passion is so rare to see. In other circumstances, we'd laud the couple for making our day! It's just that we were all lead up the garden path and made to believe that Shiv-Gauri were an item. He was everyone's hero, even when Gauri returned to his house much against his wishes. Everyone loved that bit and applauded Gauri for her move.

Why didn't anybody bash Shiv then or for going along with his mom from the beginning? Is it because everyone felt it's ok as long as Shiv doesn't have another woman in his life? Now that he has one and one whom he 'worships', he's suddenly bad and a cheat?

Pray tell how he's a cheat? Gauri did say she's returning to him so that he can live with some one else happily ever afterwards. So, how are things suddenly different now? There is someone who loves him a great deal, who would have taken Gauri's place in a trice if she were allowed but Shiv wouldn't hear of it. She's a nice girl who is geniunely grateful to Gauri for her sacrifice.

It's not as if Gauri didn't know what she was getting into. she has no right to feel cheated now after what she had told Shiv given her reasons for returning.

The time to feel cheated was when she heard how Shiv and his mom had used her...how her chances with Shashank were deliberately ruined by them. Definitely, not now! She has no one to blame for the predicament she's in other than herself.

Indeed, Gauri's cheating herself, not shiv.

I disagree with you Pippa... Shiv loves Ipshita from childhood days. accepted... But we must remember the fact that Gauri is still unaware of the complete truth. Even after she knew that she was tricked in to this marriage she came back because she was bound by her love. But atleast the moment she came back Shiv should have told Gauri abt his relationship with Ipshita.

Infact she asked him b4 if he loves someone, he says he met this girl very young fell in love and never met anyone else like her after that and he also says he doesnt know what love is anymore. This gave Gauri the impression that this girl is just in the portrait. She is not expecting him to be seeing her behind her back. By not telling her the complete truth and keeping her in dark even after she is ready to die for him, Shiv is cheating Gauri.

Well granted that Ipshi was there even before he married Gauri. So technically he would be cheating on Ipshi if he is with Gauri. But here the cheating is not cheating in love. It is cheating in not telling Gauri that he loves Ipshi who Gauri thinks is her friend, philosopher and guide. We still do not know Gauri's reaction to that do we? The poor girl is building castles in the air when her husband is seeing his lady love in the sly. Saying that he would have told her the truth if his mom had stopped him does not sound very convincing. In fact he should have told her the truth when she came back to him (before he took her to his house). There was no Nikhila then to stop him. In my opinion he is not a bad man. Just a coward who cannot face the truth.

But as they say cowards die and hundred death the valiant dies but once, Shiv will experience guilt and torture as long as he hides the truth.

exactly... you took words out of my mouth.... he should have told her the truth then and there than taking her home giving gauri more hopes. Gauri is still kept in dark which she does not deserve. And most of all mariiage is not a joke for one to marry just for 8 months or 1 year and wait for the girl to die. Marriage is a commitment for a lifetime.

it kinda disgusts me tht Shiv still has all the plans of marryin ipshitha after gauri dies. its like he is impatiently waitin for gauri to die. i don't blame ipshitha neither do i blame gauri. but i do blame shiv, 'coz he shud have told her the truth atleast when she came back to him. and i think he shud have told anupam also abt it.

agree with you....I was upset that Gauri went back to Shiv in the first place...but still she didn't know the full truth....Shiv could have told the whole truth when he revealed it was all a plan....but he didn't, why? He was afraid to be seen as selfish in Gauri's eyes....because he was, he knew the reason why he was "forced" into this marriage, but never disclosed to anyone because he was ashamed of it....Shiv babe, that shame isn't gonna do anything cuz you have already commited the crime by playing with an innocent gal's life for your happiness...

I agree that Gauri is cheating herself. And that she should have left when she had the chance. I also agree that Shiv and Ipshita loved eachother from childhood, and always wanted to be with eachother. But...Shiv and Gauri and married. Shiv has committed infidelity. He was not loyal or faithful to Gauri. Whether he had the "right" to or not is a different story. Although I stand by the fact that there no excuse for infidelity.
