MBEIEJ's first anniversary episode: - Madhu takes Radhaji for a picnic with kids from an orphanage run by NGO

Events Of The Episode

1. Dipali refuses to participate in Sikki's enthusiasm about the ceremonies and vows that she will think of something to bring the black darkness into the sunshine yellow festive mood of the haldi ceremony. Madhu brings Radhaji to a park decorated with balloons. They are soon surrounded by kids of various age groups happy to see their Madhu didi. Sultan arrives there.

2. In the chawl, Trishna is fending off calls from the media about attending Madhu's wedding when Padmini walks in. Trishna wonders aloud whether Madhu has indeed has had a change of heart and this marriage is because she loves RK and not because of revenge. This does not bode well with Padmini and she brings out Madhu's unwedding saree plus mangalsutra. She shows it to Trishna asking her to remember the night when RK broke Madhu and her plight. She wows that she will take these symbols to Madhu to remind her of that fateful night. So she leaves for RK mansion.

3. Here in the park, Madhu meets the kids n supervisor, distributes gifts to them. Madhu informs Radhaji about how her mother introduced her to this NGO and all the various kid benefit activites going on here and how it is their responsibility of helping these unfortunate kids. She tells Radhaji that spending time with her and kids will be her gift to Madhu. Radhaji is overcome with emotion at witnessing this Madhu's kind and humane act. Meanwhile Sultan gets down from the car and starts walking towards Madhu who is busy mingling with the kids.

4. Padmini arrives at RK mansion, meets Dipali and asks to see Madhu. Dipali informs her that she has gone out with her MIL and adha adhura pati. Dipali chides her for not doing anything after her visit to chawl. She tells Padmini that Madhu has become mad and has gone far in her revenge game. Padmini in return questions Dipali why she has not revealed Madhu's revenge plan to the family. Dipali keeps mum on this and Padmini accuses her that she wants her daughter to be destroyed and Padmini is well aware of this fact. Dipali snatches the bag from Padmini and Padmini leaves in a huff. Upon inspecting the contents of the bag, Dipali realizes that it is the same saree that Madhu wore on the unwedding day and very gleefully she goes to RK's bedroom to deposit the bag thinking that this will ignite the fire of revenge in Madhu's heart and will burn with great intensity.

5. In the partk, Sultan is about to take the steps to reach to Madhu when RK arrives in the car and while walking declares to his biwi that she has forgotten something at home. Sultan is angry, fuming when he sees RK. Madhu upon hearing RK's voice smiles to herself.

Well a little let down for a one year completion episode

Nothing much to say about the episode... This was quite an alag-che way of celebrating their first anniversary by having involved a NGO for orphans. So kudos to the creatives for having come up with sth different and promoting NGO...

The concept of cast members going to an actual NGO and incorporating that into anniversary episodes is years old, and was done far better by Ekta Kapoor in 'Kyunki Saas Bhi_' and 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki' anniversary episodes than the attempt here.

She would make sure that any messy tracks were wrapped up before the anniversary episodes, and then the whole main cast would go as one happy family to the NGO, and that would be incorporated into the episode.

It ensured that the main cast was part of the special event for the anniversary episodes, and it also ensured that the show's celebrity quotient taking an interest and interacting with the NGO was at its maximum.

Almost every recognizable cast member would be there to be part of the occasion.

Here, we are currently with the track at a phase where - except for the lead couple - everyone is at each other's throats.

So we have the leads, one of the longstanding supporting cast-members 'Radha' and one of the new characters, as the show's total telecast presence for the anniversary special cause occasion.

The rest of the longstanding and still current supporting cast - 'Padmini', 'Sikki', 'Dipali', 'Trishna' - were absent, thanks to the exigencies of the track.
Even 'Bittuji', who *could* have been present for the occasion in today's episode, was not there.

Incorporating an NGO segment was a wonderful idea, but it should have been given equal importance with the show's wretched shock-and-awe viewers-on-an-emotional-seesaw theme.

Instead, the track has not wrapped up their suspense highpoint prior to the anniversary episode, and has not reached even a temporary happy plateau where the majority of the cast members might be present amicably for a scene.

So it is only four cast-members who will apparently be present for a humane cause and on a professional occasion where several more of them could have been incorporated, had the tracks been managed keeping this occasion - and not just shock and suspense - in mind.

All in all, the worthy cause deserved better consideration than the haywire prioritizing of the shock quotient above all other facets of the series.

Can't unrestrainedly enjoy the lead couple's upcoming wedding in the series, and can't see even most of the cast together in the anniversary telecast episode.

It was a reminder of how much better this sort of occasion has been done - by saas-bahu serials, yes! - and that MEIEJ could have done so much better than all of that.

Sorry for such a disappointed rant rather than a more seemly celebratory comment for the first anniversary episode.
