I don't even know what it means exactly, but it's mild cursing. Like in English, you use "heck" to substitute "hell" because "hell" is a worse word... and there are many more cases like this in English... I'm pretty sure it's similarly changed in Punjabi from something else, but I don't think I should mention its root curse 😆
