Ajab AsYa Ki Ghazab Kahani May 24
If anyone has not seen the movie, 'Silver Lining Playbook,' I would highly recommend that movie to anyone who loves crazy characters, and quirky love stories. Perhaps, that's why I love AsYa's love story too. They have got to be one the most unconventional and quirky couples on Indian TV. If Asad has blow hot-blow cold temper, Zoya is impulsive and intrusive. His caustic tongue can break Zoya's heart into shreds but his touch and his loving gaze acts as the balm that heals them back into place. If Zoya's antics drive him nuts, her smile and zest for life just melts his heart.
'Arz bhi tumhee ho, mera marz bhi tumhee ho.'
So far, we have always seen him express through his eyes or body language, but today Asad turned a new leaf in his life.- he actually spoke like a man who is totally in love. He arranged for a romantic date, gifted her a beautiful sari, wrote another cute note and then pulled her into his arms as soon as she arrived. He was not Akdu Ahmed Khan today, but Aashiq Ahmed Khan! No one can romance like KSG and today we all got a glimpse into what this man is capable of. If this is the preview, imagine what the main show would be like? His husky voice and words would melt any woman's heart.
'Mera sach, tumhara sach, hamara sach," What a romantic line for a man like Akdu Ahmed Khan? No doubt he really loves Zoya a lot. Yes, Asad, tumhare seene mein ek kambakht dil bhi hai. Thank you Zoya for revealing this kambakht dil to all of us.
"Confession isey kehte hain Ms Farooqui." I am sure we will not hear these words (thanks to SBS spoiler) but if Zoya is as perceptive as she says she is, she shouldn't insist on one.
Zoya is also a unique character. After being reprimanded by Asad for Tanu's fire incident, she didn't have any qualms about obeying her Akdu's orders. She obliged, wore the sari, dressed up (of course our cute Aapi coaxed her too) and landed in the backyard, expecting to be dumped! Her soliloquy was adorable, quirky and so Zoya. Did she really think he was going to break up in such grand style? She knows him well. He has no problems with bitter words, breaking things, breaking people's hearts. Why would he need an elaborate set up to break their relationship? Hope she's got the message now. The silent engagement at the airport was in itself a confession; this is just icing on the cake.
Looks like on Monday, she shall runaway to check that 'shadow' before he can complete the sentence – main tumse….
Now this makes me wonder, that even though she wants to hear it from him, is she really ready to hear those three beautiful words? This brings us to the real Ms Zoya Farooqui- the woman who is equally emotionally challenged and who still has walls around her heart. Even though she wants Asad to commit to her, wants a real nikaah, something tells me that she is scared of completely surrendering her emotions and her heart to Asad.
The tag line of this show:
'Apni chaahta ko pehchaane ke himmat dena
Apni kismat ko qubool karne ki taaqat dena.'
Is the tag line really meant for Zoya? While Asad has accepted his feelings (thanks to Dilshaad) and has been ready to confess for the last few days, Zoya is still hazy about her true feelings. Even though in her heart, she probably knows that she loves Asad, she is not ready to recognize that fact openly. It's almost like wants it, yet doesn't want to accept the reality. She doesn't mind dreaming about him but when her dream is about to come true, she is hesitant.
No wonder, they make a unique couple that is hopelessly in love but have an inimitable equation between them. That's why one can't just criticize or blame one of them; they both have major flaws but are perfect and deserve each other. They complete each other and that's why no one else can ever break their relationship or take them away from each other (for too long.)
If Asad has to learn to trust and respect her, Zoya also needs to open up to her feelings, trust his actions and expressions. I think she uses the need for a verbal confession as an excuse to keep herself from surrendering completely.
A word of appreciation for Ayaan-Nikhat conversation today. They were both wonderful. VM has really changed the dynamics of Rashid's house. I love watching their scenes now. The new Imran doesn't look as slimy as the older one. The older one had that shy persona with poor eye contact but a devious heart. Let's see how this character shapes up in future.
Also, loved Aapi to the core. She has given a new lease of life to the dynamics between Zoya and her relationship with Asad's family. She is adorable and such a natural.
Thanks to the CVs for giving us a memorable 150th episode. Can't wait to see AsYa in action when they actually confess to unconditional love for each other. To say the least, it would be magical. Till then, we can live with the memories of this near-confession.
