You are right that most topics go towards Asad. I guess he is just the easy target because it his friend doing all these things and he just continues believing her..and he is the male lead...and our own ideas of romance and how the guy should always believe and trust the girl he is in love with, etc. probably play into all of that.
The problem is Asad and Zoya are struggling with their feelings neither one of them are fully able to admit they love one another. Asad is getting there but he is having a hard time. Zoya is getting jealous and acting out but she hasn't sat down and really thought hard about how she truly feels for Asad. She keeps wanting him to say something to her but when he questions her why? She herself cannot give an answer. Ah, these too foolish people 🤔 so in love with each other.
Tanveer is very smart that she has been able to gain everyone's trust. She knows the Khans and knows how to manipulate their feelings and fears. And Zoya is too trusting of a soul. That is both her strength and weakness. That is way she hasn't suspected Tanveer because Tanveer is Asad's childhood friend...why would his childhood friend try to hurt him or the family? Tanveer has been nice to her so she does not have a reason to hate Tanveer.
And all the circumstances in which Tanveer gets hurt and Asad cares for her are situations that from an outsider prospective nothing is wrong. They are childhood friends. Zoya at least give Asad the benefit of the doubt that he only sees Tanveer as his childhood friend and nothing more. But I agree with more misunderstandings and Tanveer hanging onto Asad more and more and Asad's own inability to say he loves Zoya only. Zoya is going to start thinking something else. I really do not want Zoya to run away at her wedding.
Right now I don't think either character can be blamed. We as the audience see all these clues so we can easily put them in place. The characters aren't there yet. But considering all the strange happenings recently during the functions someone has to start putting on their thinking cap.
