Rey's P.O.V.

"This is not the time Swayam. How are we going to stop this marriage?" I say, urgency in my voice.

Before either of us can utter a single word, I feel something hit me on the side of my face.

THAP!

"How dare you? I was so nice to you. I talked to you, I smiled with you. I trusted you. I can't believe you would do this after everything."

"Taani, I was just-"

Taani put her hand up, and I snap my mouth shut.

"Listen Taani, we have proof-" Swayam tries to reason with Taani.

"Please bhai, I can't believe you would listen to this cheating Casanova." Taani turns towards me. "And you, I can't believe you would come up with such a pathetic plan. I love Udayvir, and I know he loves me too and nothing you do will stop this wedding."

I can feel her glare burning holes through me. She grabs my phone out my hand and takes out the sim card. She stuffs it into her pocket and stares at me.

Anger burns in my veins, "Fine you know what? Go marry that creep Udayvir. You're so madly in love with him, that you won't even listen to your own brother. Now that's pathetic. I'm leaving this house because I won't stand here and let you insult me while I'm trying to help you." I turn on my heel and stomp to my room.

Taani's P.O.V.

I see his retreating back and roll my fist up before I can stop him. I look at bhai and clearly see the disappointment on his face. I press my lips in a tight line and turn around to walk to my room.

Throughout the engagement, I try to keep a big smile on my face and to my luck, everyone believes it. Every time I look at Rey, he instantly looks away avoiding any contact what so ever. And every time I looked at Udayvir, I felt sick.

Soon the engagement party ends and everyone goes home. I walk into my room and change out of the langha. I'm wiping my make-up off when I hear something from Rey's bedroom. Realizing Rey was actually leaving, I harshly rub my make-up, trying to get it off faster.

I run to his room, and walk in without knocking. He looks up at me and then as if I'm not even there, he goes back to putting his clothes in a bag.

"What are you doing?" I ask inquiring.

"Leaving." His reply is short and his voice is cold.

His words cause my heart to sink. The tears start pouring out of my eyes before I can stop them. He looks up at me, and all his anger is wiped away in a second and is now replaced with worry.

"What happen Taani? Are you okay?" His words only pierce my heart more. The sobs get harder, and to spare him from my ugly face, I hug him burying my face in his chest. OR maybe, I did this because I feel a sense of comfort. I don't know.

I feel him wrap his arms around my waist and pull me in. "Taani, Is everything okay?" I shake my head and keep on crying, tightening my grip on his shoulders.

He pulls from the hug and I keep my head down because I'm unable to stop the tears. He drags me to his bed and makes me sit down.

Rey cups my face and wipes away my tears with his thumbs. "Tell me what's wrong?"

"Udayvir." I mumble out and go back into flashback mode.

I feel his grip tighten, as I say his name.

"I heard a voice outside my room last night, so I got up to go see who it was. I opened my door a little, when I saw you peeping out of your room with your phone, recording something. I looked the way you were looking and saw Udayvir standing there with his phone firmly pressed to his ear.

Flashback

"Don't worry dad, I've got everything under control. It'll all be ours in no time." Udayvir says in a hushed tone. The person on the other side which I'm assuming is his dad says something to which Udayvir lets out a chuckle.

"I know right dad? I can't believe she was stupid enough to fall for all of this. Does she really think I love her? This is way too funny. And her dad? The great Rishi Shekhawat, was also stupid enough to fall for my act. They really are a dumb family. I can't wait until he names half his property onto Taani's name. Then I can take it from her and we can finally get evidence." His words are enough to pierce my heart.

Hot steamy tears roll down my cheeks. But that sorrow is quickly replaced with anger. I violently wipe the tears off my face.

How can someone be so disgusting? Reys look down at his phone, rewatching the video. I then look at Udayvir who was staring at Rey with narrow eyes.

Rey who was too busy glaring at his phone screen turns around and shuts the door. Udayvir calls someone again.

"Hey Dad, this guy Reyaansh Singhania, just recorded our whole conversation. What do I do?" he whispers into the phone.

After a moment of silence, he again speaks. "Okay, so I'll inform you if anything goes wrong and then you'll have your men on duty right? Okay, bye." Udayvir chuckles before walking to the guest room.

End of Flashback

"- and that's why I did the whole scene because I knew if you I told you all of this before, you and bhai would get mad and then take out your anger on Udayvir and then your life would be in danger." I say choking through sobs.

Rey once again cups my face and wipes my tears away, before pulling me into a hug. He pats my head and whispers into my ears. "Shh Taani, It's okay, don't worry. We'll find a way out of this mess."

I pull away from the hug but with Rey's arms still around my waist, my face is only an inch away from his. I feel the distance between us get smaller and smaller and then-

BAM!

The door slams open. I and Rey both jump out of the hug and look up in shock to see who it is.

BEFORE you guys throw things at me, I'm sorry for this amazing twist. But do not worry, because we all know this will only make out TaaRey stronger. 😆
