Earlier he would never get enthusiastic whenever Hollywood was mentioned to him. He would respond on this topic in a matter-of-fact manner, balanced and dignified plus realistic. He would also advise Indians and Indian media to not jump so much at mention of Hollywood.
He had himself refused many Hollywood films in which he was offered miniscule roles or if his role was stereotypical (like say, a tribal or snake charmer).
Now he even claims he had never been offered Hollywood films before and this was first time he got an opportunity?! I am shocked at this complete change in his behaviour and responses! đ˛
This is so contradictory to his past stance! đ
I guess he is too attached to his iconic status. Even more after having interacted with fans online. He does not want to be limited to playing budha bapu in films or known only for KBC. He is hungering to keep himself more relevant.
I also strongly feel this is what happens if your aulaad is nikamma. Abhishek is not a patch on his dad. Not fit to carry forth his legacy. Abroad Bachchan does not want to be known only as Ash's FIL. He is doing all this to further solidify his legend and assert his iconic signature.
He carries and keeps reviving his father's legacy till date via poetry recitals or including his poems in his films. But who is there to honour his legacy when he is inactive or no more?
Today kids of those stars who were sidekicks to Bachchan in his heydays, are enjoying limelight because their kids are successful (Shatru, Rishi etc.). And he who was the biggest...his own kid is playing sidekick to likes of Ajay Devgan in films like Bol Bachchan.
Anxiety toh hogi na to preserve his fame.
Now he himself has to make all efforts for family and to further fortify his legend in history of cinema.
