I am stealing this line iv'e heard from somewhere " Bhatakti hui aatmaas ... Laut aao"

Why is it that currently b-town can't see beyond certain actresses i.e doom taana, dhoom taana girl and the chikni chamelis ?!

Point being that there is a certain brigade of the ' popular actresses ' that the film makers can't seem look beyond. Whether it's Deepika , Katrina, Priyanka, Kareena etc. I am in no way, shape or form, taking away from the work they do at all ... but it's like actresses like Sonali Bendre, Dia Mirza, Sushmita Sen no longer even exist. It would be refreshing to see some of the actresses that had potential back on screen. <3 why are there not a wider range of roles, or scope for such actresses in the industry right now ?

Especially Sonali ... I will forever heart Prem and preeti from HSSH

I remember reading somewhere that Sonali has been approached for once upon a time again. ( the sequel to once upon a time in Mumbai)

So true. The actors, especially Shradhaa are refreshing ( For refrence check my siggy dabba, even Shobha De seems to think so 😆)

What i mean is the actresses that are older then the younger lot, but could STILL give them a run for their money

Oh PUHLEEEZ

Sonali was WORSE than Sonam and Katrina back in the 90s.

Dia Mirza was no more talented than Deepika.

Sushmita got her due - Filmfare awards, starring opposite the biggest stars: SRK, Salman, Amitabh etc

They've all had their time to shine. It's time for a new generation now.

Same could have been said about the likes of Nagma, Bhagyashree, Ayesha Jhulka, when the Sonali's, Shilpa's and Sushmita's came on the scene.

Well nobody is saying the actresses should be cast in every movie out their. Rather then distabuteing talent certificates, why not think that it would make a change to see actresses post 30 do have the scope to do something ? Nevertheless, if an actor like Rani can be almost written off post 30 Sushmita, Sonali etc are which khet ki mulis? 🤔 With Vidhya's bold and fearless act as Silk in The dirty picture things might be changing. Slightly.

If actresses with wooden expressions can be consdiered for major roles, these actresses can be conidered also. 👍🏼

A little known fact is Rani is YOUNGER than Vidya - albeit by 2 months only.

The thing is, Vidya started very late in terms of a heroine - her first film came in 2005 at the age of 27.

Whereas Rani started out much earlier in 1997 at the ripe old age of 18. By the time she sas 27 in 2005, she had already reached the pinnacle for a heroine.

Vidya is at her peak now.

It's less about age, and more about shelf life.

Take for example Aishwarya Rai in Dhoom 2 - she was the hottest thing on the planet, bikini tops, fake tan, designer clothes etc - all at the age of 33.

Rewind back to Sridevi's day - she quit films at the age of 33 - feeling too old.

It's about staying fresh.
