Was catching up on last week's MCI - and all the drama that came with it... Sigh, what do I say, it was so bad that I went back and watched last year's family episode.

This is how it should be done...

Yeah, it was melodramatic, and yes there was drama - but it was also so neat, and not, um, cringe-worthy!!!

It's quite sad to see what MCI has become now.

I agree, sadly this season has terribly gone downhill. I think it started off really well and the tasks were worth watching like putherooku, ghandvi and lots of nice challenges. But since dhaba task ,the creatives look confused whether to continue show as cooking competition with little drama or more drama with little cooking.
Season 1 too had dramas but then they had to glorify Akshay Kumar's superstar status. Season 2 looked genuine.
Could be becoz they want to maintain the trp in middle of IPL as this time its airing on weekdays. Whatever be the reason ,i wish they stick to original concept.

I think it has more to do with MC being a daily show instead of weekly one. If they dont keep the excitement buzzer ON daily soap watchers wont turn back to the show. The TRP of this show is also going good.

Anybody watching Masterchef US3? I ahve been following up with it and found it to be more acceptable and transparent judging. They clearly mention the judging parameters and stick to the rules more or less. There are SOB stories even with there contestants. Judges are more stricter and may be rude and cannot be compared with the super judges of MC Australia. I think this year's MCI has gone to dirts with favouritisms, bad editing, unbelievable drama...

in my eyes, they have cheapened the value of a masterchef title

Theatrics, partiality & spotlight on 1 or 2 judges have been the theme this season.

I agree with you all. MC lost its credibility with every episode. This was the first I watch MC India regularly and I am disappointed.
I have stopped watching the show after that mother drama with Doyel, so I just visit the forum to see who is in or out.

My main problem with the show is over use of emotional quotient and seemingly biased judging criteria.

MCI 3 is everything other than a cookery show - its more of a mockery show of talent I guess !!

Sadly this show has been turned into a farce with shoddy editing with melodramatic BG music focussing on certain contestants making the whole show like a daily soap.Favouritism from the judges side 2 certain contestants, unequal footage given 2 judges and glorifying certain contestants based on drama quotient apart from cooking all had taken a toll on the show.
