I think its a completely different matter with books though.

When you're reading books, you visualize it yourself, so its totally according to your own perception. The details, the way each character is described in regards to the other, you can like paint your own romantic picture with it

when it comes to movies, you depend on someone else's visualization for the romance to be conveyed to you. So yeah, would have to agree that its kind of in the hands of the cinematographer or the director to let you really be able to feel it

I disagree. To me chemistry is that look the actor gets in his/her eyes when they see the other person...whether it's love, attraction, hate, annoyance, etc. The mood can be created for sure and it's very important, but without 2 compatible actors...everything seems fake and false. Hoenstly, good chemistry is good acting...there's needs to be a reaction to every action and that's basically what the actors are doing in the scenario...reacting! That's why I love the chemistry b/w Hrithik-Aishu so much in JA...there's so many scenes where they have chemsitry or reactions just with their eyes...it's heart warming and romantic. Same goes for SRK-Kajol, Raj Kapoor-Nargis, Big B-Rekha, Saif-Deepika, etc.

It's like when you meet someone for the first time or go on a first date...you may talk to the guy/girl but if there's no spark or "chemistry" you like there's something lacking.

Ok. Not speaking in context to anything, chemistry to me simply means connection between two people.

To me, chemistry is Shahid and Priyanka. 😉 Their connection, attraction is very evident not just on screen but also off screen. In their interviews, the looks they give each other, the constant hand holding. For two people who're supposedly just friends, there is so much sexual tension...all.the.time. I see fireworks between them when they're just sitting next to each other. I honestly have not seen that kinda chemistry between 2 bollywood actors. The looks and smiles they were giving each other during iifa rehearsals shows that they have got a thing for each other. I will never understand why they don't want to take that attraction to the next level. I believe they will end up together eventually. 😛
