So today's contest was to use Indian stuff to make international cuisine.

1. Since when has Parmesan cheese become Indian? (used by Ripu). Though I will say he did make pesto sauce from scratch and his dish looked different and he mixed a couple of dishes to make his dish. But end-result looked good

2. All the stuff that Navneet made, anyway are made of basic Indian ingredients.

3. I like how Navneet's flat bread looked so white and nice even after having been put directly on the coal

4. Forget about the timing. In less than 30 seconds, Navneet managed to make his bread and plate his dishes from scratch๐Ÿ˜†

5. And if chefs like Ripu so much and he has made a good dish, shouldn't he have won today's award? I bet he would have but then how to substantiate a to-be Top3 who could never please the judge's taste buds

I have one big question after this round. Tell me something, how does a person like Yasmin know to prepare Mexican food?๐Ÿ˜• or even Navneet for that matter. He couldn't even pronounce Hummous or Shish Taouk properly. Ripu doing Italian is fine. Doyal doing Thai is also okay. Aditi and Chinese is good. But Yasmin and Navneet?

See their background. Yasmin is from a poor background. Her doing all kinds of Indian dishes is fine. But how does she know the Mexican food?๐Ÿ˜• Even I don't know Mexican food except for eating in Chilis.๐Ÿ˜† And who in India normally prepares Arabic food?

Does it mean that the contestants are already given training in advance?๐Ÿ˜•

I had that thought too when I first head Yasmin was going to make Mexican. I would assume that these people are being given cooking sessions so that hey can develop their skills and become more creative. It would be pointless to have a reality show in cooking of all the contestants are going to do is come and cook based on whatever they have known so far.

Another thought is that the contestants already know what the next challenge is going to be, so that they can think up something and maybe even practice.

Good one!

In an earlier post, I'd said that probably they are provided recipes. Ajay had said they help the contestants with recipes.

Exactly what I thought...Italian, chinese is fine...people in India do know about it...and Ripu, Aditi would most definitely know...

but Yasmin comes from such a background..it's hard to believe she knew about Mexican food...not possible...๐Ÿ˜• also navneet knew so much! I am sure they are given the recipes...

I mean when I was in India...I didn't know about Mexican, Middle Eastern food at all...now ever since I came to US...I eat all these cuisines quite regularly...so yeah now I know but it's different in India...especially when u come from a small town...btw I love Aghani good...yummm! ๐Ÿ˜† and mexican is so similar to Indian cuisine anyway...beans and rice ๐Ÿ˜†

I mean she hails from the North East and people from the North east have a LOT of knowledge about Chinese food. So it was a bit weird to see her cooking Chinese when she was supposed to cook something not known to her. Plus Chinese is the easiest thing you can do with Indian ingredients. They shouldn't have included that as an option at all. Chinese food aur Indians ka janam janam ka vaasta hain.๐Ÿ˜† Chinese food fan forever :D

I agree...chinese is way too common...

they should have asked her to make ethiopian ...which is yuckkk ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿ˜† or Persian...which I like ๐Ÿ˜†

I was surprised too.
Then I assumed they must have been given some training in international cuisine.

But making bread and plating in 30 seconds??? seriously???
Is he a superman?
