Eijaz Khan takes his first step towards joining politics

It might just be a distant dream but Eijaz Khan harbours ambitions of making a change in society by joining politics. Earlier this week he took a couple of days off from his hectic schedules at Balaji Telefilms to share a platform with eminent politicians, including the Chief Minister of Goa, for a youth festival in Goa.

"The festival had me give my first public speech," says Eijaz. "I guess celebrities like us need to use our name to make a difference in society. And yes, I'm certainly not averse to getting into politics. But I'm wary of joining any political party because then you become too closely affiliated to the party ideology. I'd rather have the freedom to address issues that I feel strongly about, like AIDS. I hate to say this, but even today I've friends who don't use condoms, their reasoning being there's no need for it. How can we change this mind-set at the grassroot level when it's so rigid among educated people?"

Eijaz is reasonably calm about the idea of politics. But how does he handle politics on the sets? His Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka co-star Sanjeeda continues to talk about her aversion to any kind of conversation with Eijaz.

"Has she really spoken about it again? I don't even know who she is beyond the camera. I've stopped interacting with those who think my suggestions to better a scene are a form of interference. Earlier I'd go all out to make sure the scenes are as finely executed as possible. Then I realised some co-stars took my suggestions as a personal insult. Now I save my suggestions only for those who want to listen. As for this lady you're talking about, I only know her as someone who shares camera space with me."

Is it possible for two people to work so closely for months and years without any personal interaction?

"Why not?" Eijaz shoots back. "Balaji Telefilms is filled with instances of co-stars who are at loggerheads and their serials have been grabbing TRPs for years. On-screen chemistry has nothing to do with what you feel about your co-star once the camera is off screen."

okay...im serious...no more articles for a few days please ...i dont want to take such hard-hitting new so fast...it's good that he's helping in AIDS and creating awareness...that actually desrves an applause 👏 👏 👏 ...but politics ...it's like he's trying every which way to keep himself busy...work,dance,speeches,love life...he really needs to slow down!!

And Sanjeeda matters should put to be rest...it's been so long..and they should instead talk about eijoo-jen's friendship 😳 😳 😳 ...there so much more intresting anyways 😳

its good hes not going to be a full on politician.......but yes i agree, they should use celeb status to advocate important issues......gosh they really need to stop this whole thing about sanjeeda and eijaz........its getting to too much......you know the media just makes such an issue about it that even if two people have a possibility of making up, they ruin it for them.......plus they have a tendency to manipulate words for their advantage.......im sorry but thts just disgusting.......get a life people.......let the people be.........naina
