I believe that till the 1970s,China and India were on similar lines. Thereafter, China started progressing at a much faster rate than India; and it is now quite a distance ahead of us.
Since both are not traditional powerhouses but intend to be in the future, there's is bound to be tension between the two countries. At best, what we can have is uneasy peace.
Looking at things from India's perspective, it really needs to shed its lethargic attitude as regards to policies and reforms which can make a difference. It needs to be visionary. Look at China- it jumped into Africa sensing business opportunities , India just followed. India used to have good relations with most of its neighbors, but even that is not a given now. China is challenging India's clout, be it in Sri Lanka or
Maldives.
Please, India, please- rise and earn your self respect. Rest will follow.
Edit- Maldives , not Malaysia. 😳
