@Vijay- Fanbots is a mild term and well suited to some of the samples we see on the forums (you would secretly agree too) 😉

My suggestion is similar to Dexterkilaila's...trashing the topics is not the solution. Locking the threads is better if not ideal. Otherwise it gives further boost to fan mania. They feel they can get away with anything in the name of defending a celeb while only the "bashers" will be tackled by the DT.

I personally don't subscribe to name calling or bothering with riling up fans, but a supporter of balanced criticism in good humor. Still some of my posts land up in PUS section, which negate your assertion that there is reasonable freedom of speech.

Agreed you can't look into each and every issue personally, thats why there is an IF dev team to do that job for you. As Omnipotence and others here suggested, its high team the selection to these posts should be done with better screening and they should be paid as well for all the hard work they put in.

Vijay, I've no personal grudge against you and I'm sure none of us have it against you. Thank you for acknowledging the flaw and i hope we could vouch on your word. Whether you strip off the coolbie tag or raise her WL, your call.

Having said that, intentionally or unintentionally, you've personally targetted us by calling us "hatemongers". We do not really appreciate it since I do not see the name calling coming from our end for you. Its no secret that you acted like a fangirl today but I'm pretty sure you didn't mean it. Try to understand it dude, we appreciate you and your creation. Its saddening to see how the fangirls(along with some coolviewbies/moderators) are bringing a disrepute to it. I'm sure neither you nor we want that to happen.

If we're allowed to discuss without being moral policed by some self righteous higher ups and without being harrassed by some virtual creeps, none of the name calling would result in.

Try looking from our point of view for a change. I hope you understand. The last thing you would do is upset your customers(us) but infact, you did.

Sorry, but I don't believe in words without actions...

Exactly, I have seen threads after threads for us so called "hate mongers" and warning us not to cross a line. But have I once come across any announcement or even a thread by Vijay warning these fans to behave and respect people's contrast opinions, so far, none.

Vijay, I got no personal vendetta with you, any actors or any members on IF. All we ask is for a balanced discussion on the site. And your notes where you target the so called "haters" only encourage fans to get more violent and act as if they rule the site. When I am active on a forum, I think twice before placing my views as to not get personal with members for their contrast views. But I feel baffled to see these fans attack without any hesitation of getting warning or ban. It's simply puzzling as to why they do not have any sorta fear of throwing personal remarks. And it comes down to higher authorities warning and making threads warning one party while no such words for the opposite party.

Persephone's post is a brilliant example of how a fair person should quote their words. She made sure both parties are mentioned. This is the only way to bring balance on IF. Or there will be a day, when all you will see on the site is repeated "ABC rocks, XYZ rocks, falana and dinka rocks"

P.S: I sincerely hope to see a day when I can yet again feel proud to see IF's progress. For now, it has been quite stagnant.

Let me reiterate that any personal attack on any member will not be encouraged and may lead to increase in Warning Level or Temporary Ban.

So it also implies that no more calling fans "Fanbots" or calling actors "Soaptea" or "Gober" and nor using the infamous "F" slang. And I would also add that no more calling members "haters / bashers" just cause they don't agree to the majority view.

Tomorrow we should have the "Report PM" feature active. I hope this will help in keeping a check on problem members who abuse the PM feature.

I dont think I have personally targetted anyone unless one does feel they spreads hatred.

The reason we have a Suggestions / Comments forum is to discuss issues but they need to be raised in a proper way so that we can understand each other.

I have and always will object to posts which entails "abusive language", "derogatory expressions" or any "defamatory post".

Such posts not just spoils the discussion and repulse good members but also gets us into a lot of legal issues. Just to give an example, recently we got defamation notice cause some member posted something on some big-shot's wife.

Regards,
Vijay
