"Bewakuf? Where were you? Why weren't you picking up your phone?" Arjun barked at her, though he stopped shaking her. He released her with force, almost making her fall down. He was going to continue scold her, when suddenly they heard someone shouting. It was Aisha's voice. He left Riya and ran in that direction of Aisha's shout.

He didnt see much in the darkness, but he followed Aisha's shouts till he finally found her on the ground. He bent down, and asked her what happened, "Kya hua Aisha?"

"He was here, i was just coming through this way when i saw a shadow running from here. I tried my best to catch him, but he was too strong for me, and pushed me down. i think i sprained my ankle," Aisha said while in pain.

"Did you see him? anything that may help us?" Arjun asked.

"Nothing except when he had pushed me down, he went away laughing and said, "Till when will you succeed?" Aisha told Arjun.

"Meaning he knows we know he was after Riya? or is at least guessing it!" Arjun said, and picked Aisha up in his arms.

"Riya kaisi hein? She's fine nah?" Aisha asked him.

"I'm fine Aisha, i'm so sorry," Riya said. Hearing Aisha's shouts, Riya had followed close by behind Arjun. She was too shocked when she saw Aisha on the ground, for one instance she thought Aisha was dead, till she heard Aisha talking with Arjun. She watched helplessly when Arjun picked Aisha up in his arms, and finally when she heard Aisha asking about her, she spoke up.

Arjun walked back towards the SUV, and Riya followed him silently. She didnt realise when night had fallen, she had been so lost in her thoughts, she was feeling very guilty and insufficient as an ETF member. Finally they reached the SUV, and Arjun put Aisha on the back seat, and finally he turned towards Riya with murder in his eyes. They were standing under a street light, so Riya could see how angry Arjun was.

Arjun came to stand in front of Riya and shouted, "Who made you an ETF Officer? How can you be so irresponsible? And your mobile? Why didnt you pick our calls?"

Riya didnt have any words to justify her actions, she herself was feeling so bad for what almost happened.

"We'll talk later, dont think i will forget what you just did!" Arjun said and went to take his driver's seat. But Riya was still standing under the street light. She was as if glued to that spot.

"We dont have whole night! We have to take Aisha to the hospital also!" Arjun shouted from the SUV.

Riya immediately complied and entered the SUV. The journey to the hospital was done in complete silence, except sometimes Aisha's hard breathing due to the pain in her ankle.

After some hours

Everyone was still in hospital. Shree, Chotu and even Rathore had come to the hospital. They all had been very scared. But thankfully it wasn't a bad sprain, Aisha would be well within one week. Riya was standing in one corner crying silently. Shree had wanted to go and comfort her, but one look at Arjun's face, he stayed where he was. They all were waiting to take Aisha back home. Soon the doctor came with a limping Aisha, "She's gonna be fine. She needs some rest and to be easy on that foot," the doctor said.

They all took her back to Riya's house, and Riya made her lie on the bed.

"I'll go and prepare some soup for you," Riya said and left Aisha in her room.

Riya came outside, and was worried when she saw Arjun and everyone else looking at her with reproachful eyes.

"Rathore as we discussed, Riya isn't fit in any way to be an ETF officer!" Arjun said loudly in front of Riya. Riya was shocked on hearing this, she knew she was wrong, but she hadn't imagined Arjun would throw her from ETF. She looked towards Rathore with hopeful eyes.

"Riya why did you go there all alone? And why didnt you pick your call?" Rathore asked more gently.

"My mobile was on silent mode," Riya said.

"Do you even know that you almost were killed?!" Rathore said gently. He never was one to shout at any lady, and Riya was his junior. He knew that she had behaved very irresponsibly, but still he felt as if he had to protect her.

"Sir, this wont happen again," Riya said in an apologetically way.

"Rathore, i'm telling you to fire her or more transfer her back to the desk work!" Arjun said angrily.

"Riya, you need time. You dont appear well at all. You may take one week off. But when you return back, i expect that you have dealt with all your personal issues. Remember this time your life was in danger, some other day an innocent life may be at stake!" Rathore said gently yet in a commanding voice.

"One week leave?! Are you nuts Rathore?" Arjun asked not believing his ears.

"As far as i know, i'm still the Chief here, not you Rawte!" Rathore replied angrily.

"We leave you now," Rathore said and went away. Arjun glared at her and went away without any words. Chotu and Shree came to give her a tight hug, and after they also left her. Riya felt tears in her eyes, she just wanted to go and sit in a corner and cry, but she remembered Aisha and the soup. Aisha needed to eat something before taking the painkillers for her ankle.

Riya went to the kitchen and prepared a light soup for her and Aisha, and took two bowls to her room. Both she and Aisha had their soup in complete silence. After the diner, finally Riya felt the needed courage to ask Aisha what happened and why she thought that Riya was in danger.

Aisha told Riya everything, about her contact and that man.

"But why me?" Riya asked.

"My sixth sense Riya. You have become someone very important in my life now, you've always been with me! Maybe it's just this precious relation that we have with each other. So i felt that you were in danger, and tried calling you. But you weren't even taking your calls, so i had to ask Rathore and Arjun for help. Thankfully Shree managed to locate you and we reached just in time! Because he was really there Riya, and maybe for you!" Aisha finished in tears.

"I'm so sorry Aisha. I was so disturbed when i left the office, that i put my mobile on silent mode! I never thought that my life would be in danger!" Riya said in tears also.

Aisha pulled Riya next to her, and both hugged each other, Aisha with fear because she almost lost Riya, while Riya with guilt because Aisha was hurt because of her.

After some time, finally Aisha said, "How long Riya? You love him? That's why everything he says hurts you deeply! Riya, he might never love you back, you know well about his past! Try to forget him Riya, please!"

"I'll try Aisha, i'll try my best to forget him! But you dont worry!" Riya promised to Aisha...

A man had just stabbed another man, and left his body in an alley.

"Did you think you'd be safe and nothing would happen to you after talking about me!" the other man said, spitted at the man lying in his blood and went away, fading in the shadows on the night.
