Meet Naina: our lonely, depressed Plain Jane (as evidenced by her glasses)
She lives with her family in New York City, where you can find awesome happy people like this
Her grandma is the resident queen bee, and with her posse of desperate housewives, she conspires to get Naina married
Naina attends business school with her close friend Rohit, who is a wealthy playboy
Naina's mom - who seems to be the one sane person in town - is burdened with debt and a failing business
Life seems to be dull and dreary for Naina & co. until a mysterious man appears, with a strange affinity for climbing bridges
Meet Aman: Naina's new neighbor - cheeky, optimistic, and self-appointed guardian angel
When moving in, Aman notices Naina's family praying. He immediately realizes that they must be sad and need his help in brightening up their lives ' because, really, that's the only logical conclusion
And what other way to cheer up sad people than with a neighborhood dance party
Aman rouses Naina & co. to loud music, and tries to befriend Naina
But Naina ain't having anything of that
She is supremely annoyed by Aman's bubbly attitude. He constantly pokes his nose into her family affairs and urges her to not look so ugly all the time
Thoroughly irritated, Naina is determined to prove that she's fun and hot
She takes Rohit to a nightclub with her, determined to show off to Aman
But Aman isn't too impressed
Rohit and Aman, however, strike up a great bromance. They wake up hungover the next day, where Rohit's maid finds them in a comfortable position
The poor spinster is delighted horrified
Once awake, Aman teases Rohit about his relationship with Naina *wink wink nudge nudge* and Rohit insists they are just friends!
But, slowly, he starts re-evaluating his friendship '
Naina, on the other hand, finally warms up to Aman. After he helps her family business and boosts her self-esteem, she starts getting the fuzzies
And it's official! Rohit falls for Naina. Naina falls for Aman. Everyone is totally oblivious to each others' feelings
Rohit decides to invite Naina on a date to express his feelings '
Naina comes, blissfully unaware of Rohit's intentions
Poor Rohit doesn't even get to confess, as Naina abruptly leaves to meet Aman
