I've posted this on ShashiSumeet's wall (because a lot of people are really expressing their hatred there), and I'll post this here too:

I want all of you to think positively.
If Mr. and Mrs. Mittal continue with the show, it'll make Yash and Aarti's story more popular. Those who tune into the new story will have respect for Yash and Aarti for building the premise of the show. Please be open-minded! I'm sure this wasn't an easy decision for the PH! They could have chosen to end the show, but they didn't, which says that they're attached to it. A lot of people have been worrying that the essence of Punar Vivah has been lost, so many people were complaining, and instead of dragging the storyline, they decided to give it a good ending. As for why Gurmeet and Kratika cannot play the new roles -- maybe they don't want to play the new character's, maybe they want to move on. Maybe GC wants to finally try for Bollywood, and KS wants to sign something else? They've grown so much as actors through this show, perhaps they want to grow more with different roles now. We shouldn't blame Mr. and Mrs. Mittal for this too.

Just remember, the new Punar Vivah will make Yash and Aarti's Punar Vivah story all the more popular and respectable! Plus the Mittal's have been fabulous with their storytelling so far, so I'm confident that this new story will work out, but we'll see what happens.

I wish them the best of luck from the bottom of my heart.

I totally agree with you. 😊

Even though it is incredibly hard to do right now, and I totally understand that, if we look past the end of our beautiful story and our time with the present cast, the Mittals are trying something new and truly path breaking in the daily soap genre.

There are two huge flaws in the TV industry at present and that is that people don't know a. how to make stories engaging for more than a few months and b. do not know when to end a story because the audience gets attached to the characters and will continue to watch as long as they are appearing every night. The Mittals are wonderful with the first problem, as opposed to most other production houses. They don't rush to the resolution of a story and had the Prashant -TRP fiasco not happened, our story would have been good on its original premise for another year at the very least, not to mention DABH, where I imagine the PH has a freer reign because of the high numbers, which is still on its original premise almost two years into the show.

Anyway, this move they are making with PV is tackling the second problem. People are complaining that the PH is disrespecting GC and KS and taking advantage of them and the name they have made for the show. In my opinion, it is quite the opposite. If they wanted, they could truly take advantage of the fact that people will tune in for the actors no matter what crap storyline they churn out and really go the gimmick route, but they are choosing not to. Why? Because they have huge respect for the work that KS and GC have done, for the characters they have embodied and for the story they have brought to life. Their popularity, or the popularity of the characters is not something to be taken advantage of but something to be treated with reverence and love.

The way I see it, they do understand the practical concerns of the industry they are in, but they are also not willing to compromise their creative vision, when it comes to PV at least. So this is the compromise they have reached. They continue the show, but with a fresh story inspired by that of Yash and Aarti's. As sad as I am to be letting go of Aarti, Yash and their beautiful children, I am truly excited to see this very refreshing experiment in the medium.
