What exactly are you trying to debate here? Maybe that is why no one has replied yet. lol. Its not clear.

Is the discussion of sex overrated?

Are there too many topics here?

Is it about the importance of that physical act?

Are you talking about gender issues?

Thanks for clarifying. So you are asking how important is the physical act in people's life.I am sure its important. The degree of importance varies from person to person.

It isn't overrated or underrated. It is all a matter of individual preference. Some people find sex to be very important, others don't care as much about sex. Either way, I don't think it is a big deal or a taboo. It is just a part of human relationships.

Yes its kinda overrated but that's because of puritanical demonization of human sexuality. In short its overrated by and on account of those who are sorta phobic towards sex or see it as source of sin or a hindrance in the way of salvation.

I don't have an opinion of things I have had no experience in. So, I cannot tell you whether sex is overrated or not. I can only tell you that it is a bodily need and in our society, a taboo or something. Nobody talks about it openly, hence kids my age are curious and experimental. And, oh yes - sex is discussed a lot, all right. That does not make it overrated. It depends on why a particular person feels the need to talk about it. Teenagers for example are curious. Others may be sexually dissatisfied, I am not sure.

It's over-rated for those who haven't experienced ;) it.

Just because one hasn't experienced it or one is sexually deprived they keep on trying to deconstruct it.

Osho mentioned in one of his books :
In America people are becoming sexually obsessed before their age. That is ugly, that is ill, that is premature.
In India the opposite happens: people remain sexually interested even when they are seventy, eighty, ninety.

my cents are : The case in India is that people have over-analysed sex and repressed their feelings. Indians are curious because it's a topic not openly discussed still in most parts of the country. While in America people have over-explored it. 😉 Now it's upto you how you interpret what I have said.

I think the fact that every thinks everyone else is obsessed with it is overrated 😳

It's as normal a part of life as yawning and sleeping and eating. Heck, none of us would be here without it! 😆
